 Thats the message im getting.

I think that PES08, Musou 5 and when Last Remnant hits that Japan ain't going to buy the 360 version even if there is one. They just flat out don't want the system and refuse to buy it's software if it's available on any other console.

In saying that, unless S-E are already working on a 360 version of XIII you won't see one. FF games take a lot time to port and XIII has been in development for over 2yrs now. So if production on a 360 version hasn't already started, it ain't going to start. There would be no possible way for S-E to recover their costs of a 360 version unless it releases along side the PS3 version. Any sort of exclusive, considering how front heavy the series is, just spells bomb for anything released afterwards.

Besides, I think Peter Dille is talking about games like Virtua Fighter 5, Devil May Cry 4 etc... that have gone multiplat to recover costs and not MGS4. Jack Tretton, Peter Dille and Phil Harrison have all stated that MGS4 is exclusive, even Kojima has stated that it is PS3 exclusive and just last week Ryan Payton said "If you want to play MGS4, buy a PS3" which says it all.

It's beyond doubt that Sony are helping both Konami and Square-Enix with production costs or there would already be 360 versions.

The fact that white engine is multiplatform is proof enough that se has more options than just ps3.  Also the sttement about exclusives also says to me that sony isnt subsidizing for mgs4 like many of thought.

So when 3 big Sony reps talked about striking a deal with Konami it was about words and not money? Sure, that's logical.

And Square are using the Unreal Engine for their multiplatform games. They recently released a press release stating that FFXIII will be using the full specs of the PS3 which is not possible to do in multiplatform games. Both Kitase and Nomura said that they are developing the game around the PS3 hardware. Porting to the 360 will not be easy or quick and again, NOTHING from Square has remotle hinted that they are even considering it. In fact, they hinted the exact opposite that people just continue to ignore for their own personal beliefs.

Anyway, for the 360 fans, happy waiting.

Show me a link here these sony reps "strike" a deal with konami.

Yes ur right the unreal engine is used for multiplatform games by se...but the white engine on the other hand is multiplatform also. If you dont believe ill be happy making u eat cro with a link : )

How is it proof that the MGS4 is going to the 360?

It's not like Kojima said it, it was Sony.

I know the White engine is being used for the MMO from S-E... but it was developed that way from the beginning, it's not the same thing... developing a multiplatform game is different from an exclusive game and is handled totally differently. Drastic changes would have to be made to the current XIII project and development to include a 360 version. The first thing to go would be S-E's comment about taking full advantage of the PS3 specs and since that it was VERY recently stated that they want to use everything the PS3 has to offer, that doesn't look to be happening.

And for the MGS4 comments from Sony, Kojima and Payton. They are different links but commonly known. You can find them yourself, I don't need to convince you since your mind on the matter is made up.

It is a very problematic statment but not necessarily because of what it means for particular games (Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy). To me, what this means is that (as many people have predicted for months) third party developers are making it known to Microsoft and Sony that the sales of the XBox 360 and PS3 do not justify exclusive third party support.

For Microsoft this ends up being a pretty big victory being that, unlike the XBox, the 360 will get a version of most of the major third party games that appear on the PS3; and the XBox 360 is already cheaper, with a larger library, which makes it more attractive to gamers.

For Sony this is a pretty big loss being that, unlike the PS2, the PS3 is far behind their competition and will likely have no exclusive 'big guns' to fight back with.

Squirrel, Sony are not fools. They knew that when the developed a console that requires a 20mil budget per game that exclusives would be sacrificed. 3rd parties cannot afford to lose 800mil a quarter like Sony can and survive.
