Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo: No Tomodachi collection for North America

So a million seller franchise is not leaving Japan.

Unfortunately, Sakamoto says that won't be the case. We spoke to him today about Other M (along with director Yosuke Hayashi) and asked about the status of "Tomokore" in the U.S. For the time being, Sakamoto says, it's simply unworkable for the American market.

"Tomodachi Collection is something we're really interested in bringing to the U.S.," says Sakamoto. "The problem is that we only built Japanese language generation into the software, and that's a very important part of the game. We can't make it work with English, so we won't be able to release the game here. Obviously I can't speak to future plans, but this seems like something we might be able to revisit once more powerful hardware comes along."

Good to know that Japan is expanding their titles. Too bad I've never heard of this game and I don't know anything about it.

It's the Sims, made in Japan, by developers who were on LSD the whole time.  Youtube it: it's bizzare.  Looks like a lot of fun, though.

Pretty much.  It's Animal Crossing N64/GC all over again.
