Lost Odyssey is meant to expand the user base. The less it appeals to the current userbase and appeals to other different types of people the more it succeeds.

Im not entirely sure how your logic works. If it appeals to the different audience ENOUGH then it'll succeed, but then you have to assume LO is enough to make people want to buy a 360, which I dont think it is.

Killzone 2 on the other hand has the advantages of being a genre which is very popular around the world (not so much japan however), as well as being a series already established on the PS2. (Despite its problems, it still achieved moderate success, enough to warrant a fair few fans.)

Thats actually exactly what LO is supposed to do especially in Japn. Its supposed to move systems to people that love JRPG's because the 360 base lacks that user base. Just like Blue Dragon. It serves no other purpose. If it doesnt move systems, to people that love JRPG's in particular, then it fails.

If it sells like BlueDragon than you can be sure Killzone 2 will destroy it.

It should do better than Blue Dragon as it is more similar to Final Fantasy. Blue Dragon still sold 500k WW. thats not too bad. Higher than Lair or Heavenly Sword at least.

who knows but your comparing a game that has 1/5 the budget of killzone 2 =/

Killzone 2 most likely cause of the money going into it. Though 1st one was a letdown i see it as becoming a good IP to the PS.

LO was made well, but not FF well. FF has tons of money, best developers, and tons of time put into each one. LO has the time, but not quite the best developers (heard they got a few SE people though) and def not the budget

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Well, according to VGChartz, HS and BD sold the same which is rather disappointing with the 360's much larger install base. Regardless, HS belonged to a less popular genre than Killzone.

I expect LO to have better numbers, should be around 600-800k, but Killzone will beat it.

I think we have all seen that Big Budget =/= Big sales. So that reasoning is false. Mario Party 8 and has outsold just about every PS3 game so far at about the same retail price at about 1/10 of the budget.

Heavenly Sword sold : 42 000k
Blue Dragon sold : 42 000k
Heavenly Sword Weekly in america : 11k
Blue Dragon weekly in america : not even on the list

I would say Blue dragon is not selling better than Heavenly Sword

why comparing these 2 games ?
they are so different ...

PS : thx eugene for your avatar ^^

Time to Work !

I was wrong about Heavenly Sword. Sorry. I meant Warhawk, folklore, eye of judgement, Genji, or about 95% of their other games.

Obviously Killzone, LO is made for the Japanese RPG loving audience, but the Japanese dont care about the XBOX cause its uncool to own/like. Killzone will be marketed to the American audience, whom loves average FPS action, so if Killzone is in the very least average it will sell well.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
