Forums - General Discussion - Killzone 2 vs Lost Odyssey

Both are high budget underdogs for their genre. Both are unproven IP's to an extent on new systems. Which one do yall think will sell better?

I think Killzone will personally, LO doesnt seem the kind of game the majority of 360 owners go for.

Lost Odyssey is meant to expand the user base. The less it appeals to the current userbase and appeals to other different types of people the more it succeeds.

wtf is wrong with you, comparing a generic first person shooter that americans will surely eat up with an JRPG is nonsense, the only JRPGs that sell in america are pokemon and Final fantasy.

Im not entirely sure how your logic works. If it appeals to the different audience ENOUGH then it'll succeed, but then you have to assume LO is enough to make people want to buy a 360, which I dont think it is.

Killzone 2 on the other hand has the advantages of being a genre which is very popular around the world (not so much japan however), as well as being a series already established on the PS2. (Despite its problems, it still achieved moderate success, enough to warrant a fair few fans.)

Thats actually exactly what LO is supposed to do especially in Japn. Its supposed to move systems to people that love JRPG's because the 360 base lacks that user base. Just like Blue Dragon. It serves no other purpose. If it doesnt move systems, to people that love JRPG's in particular, then it fails.

I agree that the japanese will eat it up, just like blue dragon, but, like we saw with BD as well, world wide it wont have stellar sales. Which I think Killzone 2 will.
