Forums - Sales Discussion - Realistically, how much of an impact will the new Twisted Metal have?

A small boost maybe. But I still feel like that is very unlikely.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

The boost or impact wouldn't be that big, I mean isn't GT a more successful franchise?

@andremop, yeah, as they finished that I was really really hoping they might just say: "oh, sorry one more" and then unveil GTA Vice or Agent

Anyway, it should do better this generation as it is multiplayer focused game, and with online multiplayer, it is becoming more important to gamers, so I think could do 3m

Ew no!

San Andreas PLEASE!

for the last two months you've been anti playstation (after modnation racers released) why?

Anyway selling 2.27 Million is VERY GOOD

This time with a vast online mode and a larger market for these types of games this might be the best selling Twisted Metal...or maybe it won't do so well

We'll find out soon.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Twisted Metal PS3 will be HUGE!!!!

If you aren't playing B3YOND, you're playing behind

Playstation 3: It Only Does Everything

This will do well, at least a couple of million, more if it gets 87 reviews and good word of mouth, less if it gets <80 reviews.

Around the Network

1) The Twisted Metal series has been very well received. Critical acclaim is the reason it was their game of show. Commercial success isn't always the focus... other wise we probably wouldn't have the Last Guardian or Killzone2 for that matter.

2) The last true Twisted Metal game for consoles was 2001. 9 years ago. This game's basically a new IP [which Jaffe himself acknowledged a while back]. The sales aren't that easy to predict.

3) Considering how things have changed over the years, the internet being more prominent, console gaming becoming more social and word of mouth having a greater effect on sales these day, I expect Twisted Metal to do well. Bringing it's old fans back with nostalgia, Eat Sleep Play making an excellent game to get the buzz and SONY hopefully doing some decent marketting, I think there's hope that this game can do really well.

I find it quite laughable really that people call it a big franchise. The last game sold in the 2m bracket with 140m consoles to sell to. It sold something like 200k outside the US

The game has had recent releases which people for some reason seem to be ignoring. It had in 08 Twisted Metal Head on Twisted Edition, and in 05 the orgional. The one in 08 got a mighty 73% on metacritic. Both combined didn't even get over a million units. The last proper TM was Black on the PS2 in 2001. A game that was excellent. It was better then the previous 4. But it bombed sales wise. The sales figures on here have it just over a million.

The game will probably sell 3m max if it get's bundled with a few consoles like Motorstorm was.

But it's sales don't matter, what matters is that it improves over the version they released 2 years ago as that sucked bad.

Head On PS2? You brought up a port of a PSP game that came a little over 2 years later and was developed in 6 months tops?

i'm not anti playstation. playstation 3 is the only game console i have. why would i be anti myself?

i'm just being realistic. playstation fans tend to overhype sales of certain exclusive games unnecessarily. i try to bring these people down to earth. sony franchises (with the exception of gran turismo and a few others) don't sell too well.

Wait and see.

The older Twisted Metal sales is outdated... this new Twisted Metal will sell a lot... two million just on US (the game is not so pupular on EU and Japan).

Anyway... what Sony fanchises don't sell well?? All of them sell over 1 million.
