Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox 360 slim is 17% smaller and is incapable of RROD-ing!

I guess they had to play it safe with the size reduction to avoid rampant heat issues to come back like it happened with the first X360s. Still a nice new model I guess.

it's not a lock. It's lock support.

I've heard that kensington pays manufacturers to include the attachment, because it sells locks.

"Kinect ports: 0"

does this mean I have to buy a new 360 to use Kinect?

What about the 0 kinect ports in the original 360? How does that work?

ps3 is 290 × 65 × 290 and 3kg uses about max 90watts keep in mind it has power supply inside of it too, not impressed with 360s power consumption, size, and weight

That 135 watt power supply doesn't mean that 360 power consumption is 135 watts.  It only means that theoretical maximum power consumption is 135 watts. That means that even with 5 USB devices while gaming it can never get past 135 watts because then the console would crash because system simply can't supply more power. Normal maximum power consumption is probably much less than 135 watts. I believe that original PS3 had 380 watt power supply.

not really that impressive, they removed the huge HDD made internal, powersupply it's a brick.

compared to ps3, i think ps3 was made 33% smaller and less heavy, while having a internal powersupply but then microsoft its a software company first.

I am sure Microsoft has tested this new console in every way imaginable to make sure it is reliable and to make sure it doesn't overheat.

like by moving it a bit when its playing a game >.>

This was what I thought was most interesting.

Sigh, MS is just hiding the RRoD. I suspect the rate of system failure is about the same. To the general public they will buy that it's better. For anyone who is in the know will know that they are just twisting things to fit their sales message.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Im really curious about the kinect port thing. I am sure they are not wanting everyone to upgrade to a slim in order to use kinect.
