It's possible that the poor attempts of 3rd Parties to create DS versions of their games in the past have left a bad taste in her mouth. Lets be honest, in most cases, when there is a DS version of a game, it's rarely considered the superior version. Look at Resident Evil and Assassin's Creeds previous DS entries for examples of games that have gotten the short end of the stick. It's easy for someone to base a system off it's previous installments and build a reputation. Why do you think the names Shooterbox 360 and Delaystation stuck around for so long?

Wait, what does this have to do with not liking mature titles on the 3DS?

The exact quote, when Adam asks whether 3rd party support on the 3DS might entice Morgan's interest : "I feel a little disappointed when I'm playing these mature titles on Nintendo platforms... I feel like I could just get so much more if I were playing it on a different system."

Things like Shooterbox 360 and Delaystation would have nothing to do with this. If Fable came out for the Xbox and Morgan Webb loved it, she wouldn't be thinking, "If only this was on a console with less shooters on it..." If she played MH3 on the Wii and wished it were in HD on Xbox Live, that's one thing, but again, we're talking about the 3DS (which is better equipped than the PSP) here.

Basically, she fucked up, and there's really no defending this. It's hard to tell if this is genuinely what she meant or not, but since what she said is out there, people go by it. If she said something like, "I feel disappointed when playing games on handhelds, as HD consoles have more potential," then that'd be something else entirely.

Sexism? People not actually watching the video only come in the thread to defend Morgan from the evil Nintendo people putting her down for her "opinion"?  Cat fights? This thread has it all!

I am amused.

Really though, I want to know why people defend her, do you think she'll defend you for your "opinion" especially if your opinion is something like dragons are real and homeless people should be sent to deathcamps?  Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean you can say whatever you want to say, if you're in a position of leadership (though you might not see it, having a job reporting on video games is a leadership position cause you're supposed to be gathering information for others) then you should generally try to act professional about your opinion, you could own a business and your opinion is that customers don't mean shit to you other than the money they give you, but you shouldn't go out to the customers and say that to them.

It's just very immature, she shouldn't have a job doing this if shes going to be that immature cause there are way more qualified people out there for the job if she wants to act like that.  Not sure what else people want, you're defending her right to be ignorant, stubborn, and immature, she has the right to do those things, but she shouldn't have a job doing what she does if she wants to act that way.

Stating your preferences? Stating how certain games don't fit the image of a certain company to you? What a bitch...

Except in this case, to Webb the "certain games" that "don't fit the image" are pretty much anything that she wants to play!

Yeah, she's goofy, no use denying it.

OH, and this thread turned pretty hostile if you ask me :l .

Granted, reading SaviorX's quote again in context, it's not that bad since he was talking about her liking hardcore, but still.

You're the one sexist here. Are you implying that men can't sleep their way up?

Morgan Webb may be goofy and honest with her preferences to the derision of tunnel vision fanboys, but she has a point concerning Nintendo doing nothing but living off of nostalgia by just regurgitating the same games from Super Nintendo into the latest Nintendo console. As of right now, Morgan Webb has been and will be around longer as a smoking hot authority on video games with a public presence than Reggie Fil-Aime will be COO of Nintendo of America.

As far as I can tell, the only organizations who can match her authority are gamespot and IGN. Kotaku, VGChartz, and Joystiq with their crew of nobodies has nowhere near the influence of Morgan Webb.

Did I mention Morgan Webb is married to the multi-millionaire Robert Reid who founded Listen.com, which was the source of inspiration for Real Network's Rhapsody, which he also helped create?

Yeah, you guys can hate her, but she has enough money between her husband and herself to piss you all off for a decade or more.

Money doesn't buy you brains, common sense, maturity, or the wealth of life experiences that are far more important... cause money... you can't take it with you when you die, but actions speak volumes, how you act now is how you're gonna be remembered and right now Morgan Webb is more likely to be remembered as she is now rather than the charming nerdy girl that started out as desk jockey at Tech TV/The Screen Savers.

But I digress, in reference to your other point, G4 was dying when they bought TechTV, from many sources G4 is hurting pretty badly and even made a lot of cuts last year,  honestly half the things being done I think are attempts to grab attention and ratings cause heres how it is, G4 is hurting, they know Wii/Nintendo are the popular things, bad things said by popular figureheads get attention, SMG2 is a highly rated game and will sell loads, lets have someone say something absurd about it, Nintendo steals the show at E3, lets have someone say something controversial, that'll spike the ratings for a bit.

G4 had power at one point but it's dropping fast man (for that matter the alexa ratings for both gamespot and IGN dropped last year), while on the other hand VGC is moving on up TV really isn't the way to go with video game news, many gamers are very tuned into websites and using various online sources, hell a news story leaks in Japan it hits the States with full English translations in mere moments.

I'm all for free speech, but when you're a proffesional  and make a comment that makes you look like an ass, be prepared to have some people not agree with. Webb's opinion has no real basis and just comes off as her acting like an insecure teenager who thinks he can't be within ten feet of a Pixar movie becuase it doesn't have gun fights or something.
