Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Visuals Yay or Nay?

Honestly, was a little taken aback initially. I'm trying to like it, but I was expecting a beefed up Twilight Princess Visual wise. Maybe wuth more polish...I dunno, what do you all think?

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

I really liked... to me that was the perfect style.

A mix between cartoony and realistic with a little bit of artistic (characters look water painted).

It has potential, I'll give it that.

not sure what i was expecting but i definately don't hate it.  As most seem to observe, it seems like a mix between tp and ww.

But its kind of funny when WW was announced and came out I was so "IFFY" about the visuals thinking how can I like this game as much as OoT due to how it looks.  Yet now it seems like whenever a new zelda is announced i am almost hoping that it is like windwaker.

Yet I also love ocarina and twilight princess and would just love a newer upgraded graphics in that field too.  Ha, it's kind of like nintendo couldn't decide either as well so they just joined them.

But as I have said in other posts, and I'm sure more of you zelda fans can relate, but didn't all we saw of the game just feel like it was just basically the small path from kakariko village and the great deku tree.  I mean we didn't see no hyrule field, no lake, no mountains, no water even, no towns, no desert, snow, ect.

They somehow gave us what we wanted a ZELDA, yet gave us like nothing.  I mean what the hell do we talk about besides controls and the visual style.

It looks good, i like it...but it could've been better

LoL. I know right? We saw a trailer and some gameplay, but that's it. I was also thinking that different environments may be able to showcase more. I'm not as pist off as when I saw Wind Waker, but..just again, a little taken a back.

Though, I must say the 3DS OoT pretty much squashes any beef I may have had initially with this Skyward Sword.

I loved it. I loved the cell shading on Wind Waker so of course this was a plus for me. Especially with a bit of realism thrown in. Contemporary would be a good word.

To be fair it is  a Wii game, so when thats the standard it is good!

i thought they could have been better, but they were still pretty good.

i think the look may change between now and release. this is nintendo we'er talking about afterall.
