Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Shame on Nintendo and Shame on the 3DS!!

I can honestly say that I too am a little disappointed by the 3DS’s design, but it is not because it maintains the same basic shape and layout of the Nintendo DS. What I would have liked to see is for it to be made out of more impressive materials (I like stainless steel) and for it not to have the two-tone colour scheme; although being two tone might only have been for the demonstration.

With that said, I'm only mildly upset and (realistically) I wasn't expecting much beyond shiny plastic.

Steel is quite expensive these days, honestly I don't see any handhelds using it in the near future.

If you seriously think the 3DS should look like that. You are nothing but a pathetic Nintendo fanboy that gobbles anything Nintendo throws at you even if it was ****!!!!

Simple and practical are far better than fancy and impractical. Something you’ll learn as you get older is that the more "drool inspiring" a design is today, the more dated and lame it will seem in a couple of years.

Not closing? Thats the best thing ever - it protects the screen and you can adjust the angle of the screen - you know there's lots of games that need screen angles on ds, right??

BTW... there's someone crazy enough to troll the 3DS?? Lol, good luck JJSeth!

It's nothing more than a gimmic.. A gimmic that they tried back in the 90's and failed miserably with.

Get your Portable ID!

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

well the industry as a whole is riding on this whole 3d gimmick... and move stuides and elecronics companies, computer makers, chip makers... seriously, calling 3d a gimmick at this point is stupid. im not a fan of 3d really either, but its here and its not a novelty anymore. if it becomes standard or a consumor fad, no one knows. this is the way technology progresses.

You felt like swearing at Nintendo because they kept the form factor of their handheld fairly much intact, also the name, and thus you doubt Nintendo's ability to sell.

SOFTWARE SELLS CONSOLES, NOT WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE, and even if what they looked like did sell consoles, obviously Ninty did something right with the DS.

Oh, and fyi I find sliding phones to be unreliable, ugly pieces of shit. Folding is generally less prone to breakage and more comfortable. Obviously, being as the majority of phones are folding, the majority agree with me, and thus Nintendo is right to cater to the majority.

Chill out kid.

I'm with the kid on this one. Why did nintendo go with a boring successful design for the 3ds when they could of designed it like to look like a  rooster or couch.

Lack of lobster phones this generation has been a serious concern for me.
