Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword out in 2011!

Nintendo has just announced Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

The game is compatible with the Wii MotionPlus and the Nunchuck.

Miyamoto walked out on stage – out of his avatar basically – and demoed how to use the controls in the game.

You can cut grass and plants, still, the Slingshot uses MotionPlus, you can roll bombs now with style similar to bowling.

The bow am arrow is back, and you can use a beetle to pick up items, and fly the thing around like a remote camera. You can shoot ‘em too.

Link can now use a whip, and if you want to switch to your sword, MotionPlus make it easier to switch weapons and scroll through your items system.

Miyamoto said the game will be out next year.

So the style is cel-shaded adult link?  I'm disappointed, I liked windwaker's style a lot but when you just make regular adult link cel-shaded it's not as exciting.

will i be the first to post this i hope so, it looks awesome:):)

it's the future of handheld

This trailer seriously killed of all my hype for the next zelda game...

Just my opinion though. It looks so childish... I liked the 'darker' link of zelda: the twilight princess and Ocarina of time. I felt connected to those games while playing through them. I just can't feel the same after seeing that trailer. It's cell shaded, but it still doesn't look very good graphic wise, but that isn't so important. Let's just hope the gameplay is good I guess, which most likely will be the case cause Nintendo is awesome in that :)

Still can't help to feel a little disappointed... The fact that it's only coming out in 2011 isn't helping.

Seriously, I would love for either another game in the TP style or one in the WW style, but a cross of both just feels awkward.

The controls looked better than Twilight Princess even with Myomoto screwing up the gameplay constantly. Oh and if there is no talking in this game, and only reading text than Nintendo is really limiting the games full potential.

DELAY was disappointing

The "technical difficulty" during the Zelda demo was a massive fail, but im hyped...kinda. I agree the trailer was disappointing, but not because its cel-shaded. I dont mind the graphics style at all.

OH OH OH! I wonder if i'm gonna get the slingshot or the bomb bag first!

I don't see what people are complaining about.  It's just TP's art style but cel-shaded.  They want to do something different so that people who are all "it's plays too much like previous games" can just shut up.  What do you mean by technical difficulty.
