Rumored Xbox360 is real and shipping to stores today

Microsoft has just announced that the new xbox360 that popped up on the italian site last night is real.

It has also be confirmed that the 250GB will appear as well as the built in wi-fi.

It’s priced at $299.99 and is released today

I don't understand something reported in the VGChartz news feed. It said the new model of 360 would be fully compatible w/ Kinect, while older 360s would need to...I don't know, buy the add-on, camera, whatever. Does this mean that the new 360 is Kinect-game-ready wihout an add'l purchase of hardware, or will owners still have to buy the Kinect hardware package?
