Drake Joins The Gears of War 3 Cast, Yes I Said Drake

Yep, you did read that title correctly. News out of Epic HQ has revealed that “The fastest rising superstar in hip-hop” will be making an appearance in Gears of War 3, or at least his voice will be. Drake will be the voice of the Ludacris lookalike Jace Stratton. Those of you familiar to the Gears of War comics will have no doubt heard of Jace before this announcement but for many of you, including me this will be our first time seeing the character in action.

Here is what Epic Executive Producer Rod Fergusson had to say about the latest addition.

“Jace is a central character in the comic books, so he was an obvious choice as a character we wanted to bring into the third game”. “When we began casting for the role, ‘So Far Gone’ had just released and Drake’s combination of heart and grit was just what we were looking for. Rather than search for somebody who sounded like him, it was clear that we should approach him directly… fortunately he turned out to be a huge fan.”

Here is what Drake had to say about his role in the game

“When Epic came to me with the role, I couldn’t pass it up”. “They’ve created an amazing character in Jace, and I’m looking forward to my tour in Delta Squad.”

Why couldnt they have just gotten Ludacris to do it?   He is also an actor after all.  I hope it doesnt ruin the experience, I cant stand his music and I think he is over-rated.

Yes, I thought someone tripped the Nolan North early alert system, that notifies of an impeding influx of Nolan North doing his own voice.  Hey, I do want him to work, but the industry needs to allow him to do other voices besides the voice of Drake from Uncharted.  He wants to, but they keep telling him to do his own voice.

His music is OK, he is over rated but he has a good voice.

Personally, i think they should of just threw Drake in there, his face and all.
