Reveling in something so inane is pathetic.

New Vegas is still coming to 360. so how is this a blow to Microsoft?

THis is a blow in the sense, that the game will be using steam whatever. I assume valve or microsoft gets some royalities for using clients to manage and download. This is a small blow to microsoft but lets be honest here shio..... GFWL always sucked.

oh! thanks for pointing that out.

lol xD

This.

His use of wording just screams immature fa**oy, too.

"supreme awfulness"

"HUGE BLOW TO MICROSOFT!"

"Long Live Our Valve Overlords!!"

Quite frankly, all I see is Shio's posting credibility taking a blow... Talk about "blowing" things out of proportion in the headline.

It's not fanboyism when all you want is the best for all PC gamers, regardless of whatever DD service they use.

Microsoft dominating PC's digital distribution market is the worst possible outcome for PC gamers. They tried to force PC gamers to pay a monthly subscription if they ever want to play a GFWL game online! This is why that any blow done on GFWL cannot go untold!

Valve, on the other hand, keeps improving Steam at a tremendous pace, and Steam is by far the best DD service in any platform. Completely free, Great features, Cross-platforming, Great sales, Great games, etc...

What the shift of Fallout: New Vegas entails is that Steam will be able to attract RPG gamers, and win over the RPG crowd. Steam already has won over the Shooters crowd and RTS crowd! And they're now going to get the TBS crowd with Civilization V, and RPG crowd with Fallout: New Vegas!

Lol, if those are your supposed "noble" intentions, clean up the immature eltitist mentality and stupid wording.

Steam already has the RPG crowd, anyways, well before New Vegas.  Steam has Mass Effect 1 & 2, Torchlight, The Witcher, and many more RPG games.

Features wise, Steam is still well behind things like GFWL/Xbox Live, though.  Until Steam has party chat, better universal achievement support and rankings, and better matchmaking services it is only going to be the top in DD.

They don't have the RPG crowd. While Steam makes amazing sales on RPGs, and they no doubt sell well, the truth is that no RPG has ever used Steam as their DRM on retail copies (which is the real way to get the RPG crowd). Fallout: New Vegas will be the first big RPG to use Steam for their retail copies.

As for the last part, Steam is widely considered the greatest DD service ever:

Several ways to communicate that XBL/PSN don't have. While it doesn't have party chat, it has good instant messaging, including even be able to invite other people to join their games with the push of a button (even if they're not playing the game).

It has well done achievements system, you can even see how many people have gotten a certain achievement.

No gamerscores!! That's a plus. Gamerscores are pointless because they do nothing. They don't tell you that you play better than others.

Steam's Dedicated Servers List Search >>>> XBL's Matchmaking

Steam Cloud, Steamworks, unlimited downloads, REAL Cross-platforming, etc...

All I can say is F@ck Valve and F@ck Steam. I rather have GFWL than the shitty DRM that is Steam. Valve is pushing me closer and closer to pirating games locked with their crap. Why can't companies also use other DD platforms, too, like Impulse?

lol, huge blow to Microsoft? WTF? They are shitting their pants, I bet, lol. shio, you silly kitten.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
