Children of Mana (and the rest of the Mana games that followed)

Let's be honest, Sword of Mana shat the bed first.  Or even Legend of Mana really.

At least those two games were made by the original Mana team.  And were playable.  Not just a weak Fushigi no Dungeon rip-off that probably was made in less than 2 months just to sell on the Mana name alone.

True, Everything after Seiken Densetsu 3 hasn't been as good as it.  But Legend of Mana and Sword of Mana were still okay in their own way.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Around the Network

Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops

Devil May Cry 2 & 4

Final Fantasy X & X-2

Resident Evil 5

Star Ocean 3 & 4

Metal Gear Solid 4

Xenosaga II

Kingdom Hearts RE Chains of Memories

Grand Theft Auto IV

Final Fantasy X-2

Tomb Raider : Angel Of Drakness

That is all.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I liked Legend of Mana quite a bit actually, but I can totally see how a Mana fanatic could not go for it.  The structure was really too out there.

Sword of Mana was absolute buggy shit though imo, and really desecrated Mana 1 (which was legitimately great).  It was at that point I knew Brownie Brown was all hype, no meat.  Heroes of Mana is probably the worst thing overall in the series too.

Children of Mana was okay I thought, but then I really liked Shining Soul and this was from basically the same guys at NEX/Nextech (minus the gorgeous pixel art from Grasshopper/Audio).  At worst though it was just a storyless dungeon crawler/loot 'em up, which is not all that different from most complaints hurled against Legend of Mana (even if the 2 are pretty different).

As far as Mana goes though, Dawn of Mana should really bear the brunt of H8, as it was the actual 4th sequel in the series.  And it was AWFUL. ;_;

GTA IV

Grandia Xtreme

Final Fantasy X-2

Chrono Cross (if thought of as a sequel it is terrible, if thought of any other way the game is amazing)

Star Ocean 3

Dungeon Siege 2

Around the Network

Ohhh I forgot to add GTA IV. I still own it, but honestly I don't know where the hell I put it. And all the Need For Speed games after Hot Pursuit 3. So to recap, Fuck all the games I mentioned.....hard.....

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Devil May Cry 4. I play DMC games to play as Dante not Nero.

Tekken 6. Graphics looked sooo dated.

FF X-2. Didn't find it crap but it wasn't on the same calibur as FF X, which makes it a disappointment.

Tomb Raider: Underworld (The Wii version)

Prince Of Persia: The Forgoten Sands (Wii version also)

Dino Crisis 3

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

Tekken 4 (Namco, PS2) was a letdown after the great conversion of Tekken 3 to PS1 and TTT to PS2.

Tekken 6 (Namco, PS3/X360) could have better graphics (example: Jin's body looks like a wax figure) and faster loading times. Even then, I still love this game for some reason.

Virtua Fighter 5 (Sega, PS3). The lack of online and other updates from version B is really bad... And the worst(e?) was Sega's official statement that they would not patch it. Not happy with Sega at all... they should give us a new version even if it costed money.

Resident Evil 5. It was good, but RE4 was one of the best games ever, and RE5 could have been so much more.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
