You see I really don't care how good Natal is. I just want to point out that playing Natal will make you LOOK like a retard. The Woman in the video proves it all.

I'm just sayin. It makes you look retarded.

Well both the latest playtests have said when your there watching someone playing it, it's amazing to witness. It didnt feel wrong or awkward. But the most Natural experience yet with a game. And that only based on Riccochet.

Worth reading if you saw my thread on it.

Experiencing apparantly is the key here.

Hence my sig is taken as a direct quote from the recent playtesters.

lol stop trying to justify it......it did look retarded in the video and it did make me feel awkward end off ,im not saying every player plays like that, and reading someone elses opinion will not change what i saw, that woman in that video will haunt my dreams forever

Maybe I just haven't been taking the video too seriously but come on, you gotta admit it's funny watching the woman play :D!

And no I have not seen you Natal thread. If you provided a link to it I'll give it a good read.

I'm not saying Natal is crap or anything, just sayin it just looks funny when watching them play in my perspective.

space probably gonna be problem for a lot of people - there is no furniture and they are like 10-13 feet away from the screen ( if 10-13 feet are  4 meters :D)

I hope that's not the best spot to play natal games because that would mean that you have to sit like 6 meters away from the screen to have the best natal expirience

Of course it looks funny. I'm just saying it's all in the context. Watching a video of someone playing a non controller game. You cant see both the screen and players at the same time. All it looks like is a person standing there making wierd gestures.

I was just pointing out, that it wouldn't look wierd stood in the room watching them. As others have already commented.

I think every video of Natal when you see the player, makes them look retarded. Same with the Wii. Being in the room seeing reactions against the screen gives those movements validty and takes away any stupid feel.

From what weve read being there and watching it is captivating.

Lol! Looks Like a Lot of fun for a family.

Atto Suggests...:

I also like how there was no furniture in that room,

That's my concern for Natal, i doubt the majority of households barely have all that free open space. And if players have to constantly move furnitures around to get the space needed would just seem ridiculous.  I'd like to see it being tested on a normal living room space with furnitures.

exactly, lets just say there are 5 people in your family and your in an average sized living room two people are up playing the red ball games, do the other 3 sat in the room watching have to keep perfectly still? can you imagine kids between 5-9 keeping still while others play.... it just wont happen, or say if someones just passing through the room to go the toilet and it goes into the camera vision slightly will it effect the game? also is there some sort of action to pause a game? or do you actually need the controller

My (parents) house is a fairly big single house and all the living room space i have between my TV and couch is like 7 feet by 9 feet wide (mite be less) and if thats the avg free living room space in a house of that size, image the free space in a smaller house?

Yea i wonder if the people behind would have to sit still for the camera to not detect them? there can be alot of distraction if there are alot of kids and even pets.  I can imagine some girl trying to play and a dog comes up and tries to hump her XD  I wonder what the camera will detect from that lol

Im going to guess there'll either be a button on the screen for pause, or have voice commands where you'd have to yell out pause.  But if it's voice i can imagine some annoying kid yelling out pause constantly lol

BTW, how did you kno that i quoted you like an indication on VGC that lets u know someone quoted you or did you just check back on this thread time to time?  I know for the old version the text of the forum on the side changes color.  But is there a way to know for the new format?

Go to the playtest Natal thread. It's confirms all these questions for you.

Mid game a player can jump out, different person takeover with no hiccups.

People walking right behind players have no affect on Natal picking up the players. They were very impressed with the tech.

A couple of guys tried to 'break' Natal as they put it. Changing player rapidly in quick succsession but Natal didnt flinch.

Some very impressive tech. This was on the latest build of May 27.

EDIT: Pause happens player walks away. Or it's voice controlled. This is programmable by developer. So this is how Riccochet does it. Confirmed by playtest also.

Flailing my arms around and wailing is not a very natural experience for me. Except if maybe i am getting attacked by a swarm of evil death wasps (it happens sometimes...)
