Forums - Microsoft Discussion - L.A Noire now on 360. How long for The Agent?

LA Noire has been multiplatform for a while.

It's also been vaporware.....

This. All we've seen for LA Noire is a few photos.

As for Agent I think that's one that will stay PS3 exclusive because I'm pretty sure Sony has a deal with Rockstar for this game.

Agent will remain PS3 exclusive.

Sony funded L.A Noire up to a point.

Instead of Sony going back for their money, they had a meeting with Take-two and Rockstar and that's where Agent was suggested, and a deal was signed.

Quote me, Agent will remain a PS3 exclusive.

Find it interesting that apparently the $20 million that Sony paid Team Bondi for LA Noire is inherently more valuable than the $50 million that MS paid RockStar for the GTA IV expansions exclusivity.

Why does $20 million = exclusive forever and $50 million = exclusive for 1 year only?

Hope It Does Stay Exclusive, Though i dont think it will. Money Talks, and MS has more money.

if it does stay Exclusive i hope RockStar takes full Advantage of the 60GB Blu-ray Disc and Cell.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

GTA is Rockstars biggest franchise.

Yeah that's true - though I can only speculate the details of this contract are like many others in which, have many clauses and options to either continue paying for exclusivity based on the investor's projected sales margins or the publisher is free to release it on rival platforms.  I think $20 million for a Rockstar exclusive for life is very generous.

People acting like PS3 "exclusives" never made their way on the Xbox 360...

Hi @ Tekken
Hi @ Final Fantasy XIII
Hi @ Assassin's Creed
Hi @ GTA IV
Hi @ Devil May Cry IV
Hi @ LA Noire

Look at the sales of Rockstar / Take Two games on 360... 800k for RDR in one week, outselling the PS3 version by more than 50%. GTA IV on 360 outselling the PS3 version by a decent margin as well.

3rd party exclusives doesn't make sense for any publisher with a userbase of 40 million on the rival platform. (excluding the Wii, it couldn't handle this game anyway)

Ohhh ok so you agree that Gears of war, Mass effect and All 3rd party 360 exclusives games should be on PS3 too right? they can't ignore 35m install base right?

If those games would come out for ps3... than Heavy Rain, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance would some day come out on 360 too since there not made by a first party developer also right??

Anyways.....As I said before 3rd party games are becoming extinct and this game will most likely be multi also

Sony owns those IPs. Mass Effect and Gears, and "all 3rd party 360 exclusives"? Microsoft has nothing. Nice try

Who cares? Honostly the console exclusive dickthump-fest is sad and tired. As an owner of all the major platforms I care jackshit about the exclusive nature of a title with the exception of new and fresh gameplay mechanices. I see those on Wii and PC all the time. As far as 360 or PS3 they are roughly equal, and as far as I'm concerned exclusives just limit the audience. I would love to see Halo on PS3, and God of War on 360. Now I know it won't happen, but I think it is bizarre to wish a game not to grace as many consoles as is feasible. Of course I realize that exclusives are inherent to the 1st party structure, but that deosn't mean I don't think it sucks. And yes I don't think multi-plats should be dumbed down. If you can get better graphics or AI on PC, PC3 or 360 be my guest. Non-exclusive doesn't mean that care shouldn't be given to each platform. But the artificial restrictions are silly, and not feasible for 3rd parties- this is pretty clear by the lack of these titles this gen.

I for one would love to see what Alan Wake would look like with the extra beef of the PC or (to a lesser extent) the PS3. By the same token I'm sure many a 360 fan would love to take a stroll in Siren, or Heavy Rain. For that matter imagine Super Mario Galaxy 2 with Move or Natal. Won't happened, but I would love it!

My point is that exclusives only provide ammo for the fanchildren, and are a pain in the ass to the mature, non single console obsessed gamers among us.

And... You're wrong because Sony owns the Ratchet and Clank and Resistance IPs whereas M$ doesn't own the Gears or Mass Effect IPs.

Well they invested ~$20M into LA Noire and after a few years they had nothing to show to Sony. They are getting a brand new IP as an exclusive and I am sure they are also funding it as well on top of the ~$20M they already spent.

Seems like a fair deal.
