Not that I don't like our community and all, but there are some crazy left wing gamers out here, and I don't want to hear what they have to say about virginity, jews, muslims, athiests or christianity.

I can't help myself from peeking into these topics and end up getting pulled in and trapped, into an aweful discussion with a nonsensicial racist person whom I hate, about something that isn't the least bit relevant to my gaming or daily life, and that I don't really care about in the first place. I feel shittier and dumber for having visited it.

I want to never gaze upon that garbage again. How can I do it, besides not clicking on the acutal topics? Is there a filter, please god?

You have to be able to muster all the effort it takes to not click on the "Off Topic" button.

lol, they show up in my "hot topics" topics. I can't distinguish them, GRRR. Is there a way to remove it from hot topics at least?

Besides, yes, our site's members are pretty left-leaning, but they're not Communist revolutionaries or anything. I suppose the heavy Atheism would annoy a religious person, but not enough to keep you out of Off Topic completely: Not every thread in there bashes religion.

Actually, I was going to propose to ioi that we have a Sex, Religion & Politics forum since that is where the real extremists tend to post and really get on my nerves. I'd love to be able to completely ignore them, but I do like the occasional offtopic discussion. I saw this on another forum I recently started visiting and I love it since I never see any of those topics.

I get what you mean. I been pulled into one with another user in that forum and Im now trying to stay away as, to me, his responses are getting more and more bizarre. (Im not naming him, but if hes reading this, no offence, maybe Im just not understanding what you were trying to say)

The forums are already slow enough as it is. Just leave them alone and for the TC, have some self control (unless this was a joke thread all along).

And while there are some left-leaning people on the site, let's not act like there aren't 5 or so really right wing people who dominate every political thread and will start massive, boring debates without fail.

Ehh, it's never as bad as GAF though. I regret going into GAF's thread about Israel and Palestine. My eyes had never seen such shameless trolling.

lol, don't change the forums, just give me the ability to not see them. It's not really the left wing zealots or the boring right wing commentators that get me, it's the crazies. The insane racist bastards with no sense of understanding. The people who not only have their mind made up before the conversation due to ideology, but the ones who defend their stance without reason.

It's these people who really make me not want to see these topics. The trollers, the assholes who post purposefully misleading articles meant to trick slightly less ignorant people into taking their side. The people who want nothing else but to bend the masses to their predetermined ideology.

I wish everyone had their own opinion, those people don't wish everyone had their own opinion. They wish everyone shared their opinion, but their opinon isn't really theirs, it's their sponsors.

Spinning facts it such an vile, and evil thing. It is the sustained practice actively trying to trick the less intelligent members of the community into siding with you, so you can win by popularity contest. It makes me sick, and so damn the drama, I want it off my videogames if at all possible.
