Can't say I appreciate the "I got more graphix than you" war that's going on.

I think there are bigger enemies to gaming than graphic whores though.

What I want to get rid of is the people who just can't accept that gaming is for everyone.

You like M-rated games? Fine, but please stop whining about casuals or "kiddie games".

You like story-centered games? Fine, but don't attack games with little to no story.

You like JRPG's? Ok, but stop complaining about there being to many shooters.

Etc...

dont forget about story whores...they are fastly overstaking the graphic whores

Yes I agree, well not 100% though. Yes, it is annoying but it's not the most annoying thing. If a PS3 fan wants to believe his or her games are better because they have better graphics, let them live in their world. (Yeah it makes you wonder what excuse they had for the PS2.)

But all I know is, I know plenty of friends that love Wii and appreciate its games and I have a good time playing. So when it comes down to it, its about what you know. That knowledge that you have gives you an advantage and makes you less ignorant compared to others.

What is more annoying are people who don't believe the Wii has any good games. I run into that sometimes. Again, more ignorance.

@forestspirt: you are spot on. If I hear one more person say "x and x game" is a "breakthrough in gaming" due to its "clever plot illiteration" I swear I'll punch someone. Ok it is fantastic that someone has come along and crammed a (not very) literary story into the one place you can no longer avoid it (in your games) but:

1) try reading some real literature before you hail "armored solider kills alien onslaught" as literary genius

2) (in many cases) your game neither enhances the story, nor is enhanced by it having the story, nor does it make up for your game sucks

3) Your game is not art simply for having housed a piece of (in most cases mediocre) art inside of it. Sure a game "can" be art, but story does not make a game art

4) I have run out of other points to rant about but I'm still angry, like there are many other reasons this pisses me off but I can't think of them right now

Only reason it's the "Wii faithful" that you consider are the only ones who play just for fun....is because the Wii has the crappiest graphics in terms of this gen's home consoles. There's never been this much of a divide in terms of the horsepower each console has, but now that it's finally happened, of course there are gonna be those that say graphics matter. Why? Because there's finally a huge disparity in visual fidelity. I bet this thread (or even gameplay over graphics threads in their entirety) wouldn't exist if Wii games were blowing PS360 out of the water. The inverse would just happen and PS360 fans would say "gameplay over graphics" because that's the only argument you have to make you think your console of choice is superior (other than, you know, enjoying the library)

I consider myself a graphics whore...and Uncharted 2 is one of the best games I've played this gen if not ever. I'll oggle over it's graphics, but does that mean I don't enjoy the experience I got with it?

What's more annoying is people telling me that graphics aren't important.

There seems to be this ridiculous idea that graphics and gameplay cannot co-exist, and that people who complain about graphics only care about graphics. This is not the case. Otherwise, there wouldn't be more HD console owners than there are wii owners.

 This point would be valid if the gameplay of games with the best graphics weren't just as phenomenal. As is, this argument is for wii owners who have never played an HD game and feel the need to lash out at their gameplay because they know wii games will never match them in graphics. Problem is, games like uncharted 2 are as good if not better then the best wii games- and that would stay the same even if the graphics were at wii levels. 

I agree. Ever since games started to have shiny graphics, their gameplay has started to decline more and more. I can't think of any memorable game in the past several years outsie of World of Goo and Portal, meanwhile I can easily name dozens between 98 and 03 all of which are better than anything released this gen.

P.S. I game on PCs as well so I have the most grafix out of anyone and I still think this is true.
