Well, if you check my post, I put a 1-1 on paraguay and that they advance on penalties. You could do as follows

1 point if you put draw, but do not guess the score (no extra point for guessing the penalty winner)
2 points if you guess the score but don't get right who wins on penalties
3 points if you guess the score AND the penalties winner

It doesn't favor those who put draw, and adds a layer more of guessing

That doesn't seem to fair to me as you have to make two correct predictions (score and penalty winners) to get all three points if you think the game will be a draw. I'd stick to guessing the score after 90 minutes or extended to extra time but definately leave out penalties.

It's football. We reward wins more than draws. Plus, it's not fair, what's the point of predicting the world cup final if you're just gonna put a draw and not who wins it...

Because if we use that system then no one would predict any draws (if they have any sense) because it's adds extra layers to obtaining the 3 points which to me defeats the point of prediciting scores in a score predicition thread. I just don't see why you should be penalised for correctly predicting the score if the match ends a draw (after 90 minutes or extra time).

Anyway, congratz to Ghana. I'm happy an African team made it through again and thought they deserved to beat the US over the course of the game. If Ghana had a little more experience/quality upfront they'd be a very dangerous side.

Well, pretty much because you don't...I mean, guessing who advances to the next round is KINDA important..

And in the end, you'll only get points for a draw if it's a draw...so if less people guess a draw then less people will get points...their loss

But it's a score prediction thread where you are supposed to be rewarded for guessing the correct score. If you bet on the score in a bookies they wouldn't ask you to pick the penalty winners if you bet on a draw.

Anyway, just my opinion. I think SciFiBoy should make an executive decision as it's his thread and whichever method he chooses is fine.

for these games, no specifications were made ahead of people making their predicitons, so im inclined to say that for these games the extra time system applies.

for the next rounds, I will request that EVERYONE puts the winner on penalties for games they predict draws for, and then I will use Zexens point system.
