I don't think so. There are numerous excellent developers you can point to with an even bigger track record. Sure you can say they are one of the best in a hardcore gaming sense but they are merely very good relative to the entire scope of gaming when you consider some of the massive mainstream developers as well. Taking just one developer, Blizzard. They have topped the genres of MMORPG, RTS and ARPG. Pretty much everything they have touched has risen to be considered the best and next to that the achievements of Naughty Dog have to be considered a level lower.

SMG2 is 1.6gigs and has an average rating of 98 atm which just released like, a week or 2 ago? as much as I like UC2 and got le plat, Nintendo first party=fucking beast.

 

ps: can't comment on polyphony this gen, they have, no games on my PS3 /shrug

Yeah, there are more good developers, everyong knows that, but that's not the point.

Yeah, there are more good developers, everyong knows that, but that's not the point.

The opinion was that they are the best console developer. Clearly they are not in a wider sense of the definition because you'd have to consider all console developers for all market segments. However considering only a narrow segment of developers then in that sense they could be considered the best by a few people depending on the subjective criteria.

The number of Nintendo employees must dwarf the number of ND employees, surely?

Not only that, but Nintendo itself is an aggregate of several studios. It'd make much more sense to compare their individual studios to ND or even the whole of Nintendo to the whole of Sony.

That's "clearly" your opinion though, which is what he's trying to explain to you.

Clearly Miyamoto is considered the greatest developer of all time. Since hes still producing work then clearly in a console sense he is head, shoulders, torso, hips, legs and knees and ankles above Naughty Dog.

yeah Naughty Dog is also my favorite developing-company...but the best Developer is Hideo IMO...

would love to see a Naughty Gear Solid xD
