Thats a given..they would have to date all todays games have VA's...they have no choice but to redue OST either.

The voice actors/actresses from Advent Children should be used. Would be awesome.
I'm getting excited again just thinking about the posibilities!

I agree some what with Xxain here, if they're going to remake it it'll need more then just a graphical touch up as that is just asking for disappointment for a large number of people. I'd rather they just leave FFVII as a classic then go that route, FFIII and FFVI were brought up to standards of rpgs that came long after them when remade so FFVII should do the same, FFVII was good for it's time but simply doing a graphical touch up won't cut it especially after playing many rpgs in the decades after. Purists may disagree but who cares SE probably knows that if they don't do anything a long the lines of what Xxain is suggesting it'll be a disappointment with new gamers picking it up and asking what's the fuss about.
Do they not realize that it's ok for the remake to retain the top-down, non-rotating camera view for the overworld/town maps?
It does NOT have to be to FF XIII specs.
Were any other remakes made to stand up against the current FF that had just been released? No.
Just make it so the characters aren't all boxy in world and town maps...the backgrounds were already pretty lush and beautiful, but they could improve those to HD standards as well. Fight scenes could be brought to the level of XIII graphics without a problem -- and yes we'd still be flashing to a fight scene from an overworld map, so it's not like the graphics have to be integrated through the whole game like with XIII. Finally, revamp the cutscenes somewhat (they were already beautiful, just up the res) and give us some new content.
This wouldn't take 3 years.

Hmmm, the problem behind that logic is that the Dragon Quest series seems to have improved since the merger and DQ dosent focus on CGI and photo-realistic movie like cutscenes. it does however focus on gameplay and DQ9 has recieved rave reviews from what i've heard. i dont think the problem is Enix, i think its the Sqaure management. and thats the reason the series has degraded. the whole CGI stuff is Squares fault, and thats because of the Kitase & Nomura control over the series. by the way Sqaure Enix are releasing DQ10 exclusively for Nintendo Wii, so theres your orignal, gameplay driven, non CGI RPG. |
dragon quest series are published by square enix, they dont develop them
Also, 30 years to develop? Yea, just like FFXIII is PS3 exclusive, as stated by SE.
....oh wait
It was just a figure of speech obviously, people actually think he seriously means 30 years.
God, is it that hard to think.
It didn't take 30 years to make that tech demo.....I bet it took 30 seconds lol

I keep answering this question. They cannot. how many AAA HD console games have 2D rendered backdrops? None. With new technology comes new requirements what flew in PS1 days will NOT fly in PS3 days especially with games like Uncharted GOW FFXlll and VS raising that bar. A HD game that looks like a PS1 game would be a laughing stalk.. a FF7 remake woold be complete fail if they tooi the PS1 version and just updated graphics.. maybe on PSP but PS3 |
They could however settle for doing it in the style of lost odyssey, this would not take as long as say as doing it in the style of FF XIII:):)
it's the future of handheld
