Well it seems that whole "supply problem" thing has once again appeared. Some people believe it and some don't.

So to get a better picture of it what is it like in your area? Are you seeing none in your stores?

That is from a shop in the UK. As you can see PS3's gathering dust. They are in the sale for £220 with GOW3. I asked the sales assistant have you had problems getting in stock and he said "no our problem is selling them".

So that sort of contradicts the whole "can't find one anywhere" argument that has been going on.

But what is it like where you are?

I have never and doubt I will ever see PS3 shortages in the UK.

America is the region which is having the issues.

I used to work for Toys R Us about 2 months ago and every couple weeks we would receive shipments of maybe 6-12 and they would remain in stock for about a week and a half.

I've never seen more then 20 PS3's in stock though and one time we had a drought of about a month when the price dropped and the slim was introduced.

here the PlayStation 3 is sold out. There is no God of War 3 and Heavy Rain Bundle's more. Okay, I do not live in a big city, but that means something. The Ps3 is seized upon.

it's never "gone away" Sony is either having major issues or they are trying to artificially increase demand in the US...

Hyruken, you're aware that the reported shortages are in the United States, right? Showing photos of the PS3 in stock in the UK does not mean the shortages in the US are imaginary.

On the contrary it does. Because if they are severly under-stocked in the US and severely over-stocked in europe then why have they not slowed down production for europe and transfered the stock to US? I am sure making a Pal PS3 into a US region PS3 is not too difficult, you would imagine it id done at the same factories.

Because by that logic it is like saying Sony are not aware of the demands for their product. Which would be stupid.

I know some people like that "New car scent",  "Got to have it in my hands now mentallity" but PS3 Has never Been in short supply even if autofficially applied.  It's called ONLINE shopping, Cotsco and B.J whole sale.  It's always been available at trickle cause no one really wants it (cept fans) and Euro Funds is higher than the U.S. dollar so it is always be in abundance in Europe.  If you really want one and you play games you CAN find it.  Enjoy..

There's a large pile of them on display at the local Futureshop here, which is the main store chain around here for videogame systems. There isn't really a shortage of any system right now except PSP and PS2.
