Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Ultimate Nintendo "Fanboy" act??

Hey guys, I got a question for my fellas Nintendo fans, I went to my local gamestop the other day and one of the clerks tried to sell me Red Dead Redemption, he made it sound like this game is amazing and I told him that I will eventually buy it but once it's available "pre-owned", he asked me why? so I told him that ever since the end of Nintendo 64 era I made a decision which I thought was an act of loyalty. I only buy "new" games for Nintendo systems making sure my hard earned money (or my parent's back then) goes to Nintendo and the developers, Now I still like some games in other systems but I only buy those copies "pre-owned" which as you know the main benefitiary in that, will be the Retailer (Gamestop specially) he looked at me as if I just confessed to JFK murder, and said that it was a little hypocrite since I was still playing other games in other systems. anyway, This is my decision and Its something that I have been doing since I was 10, I still hold Final fantasy 6 and a Link to the past my favorite games of all time and I was 6-7when I played those. so dang it Nintendo was part of my childhood so I'll be with them til lwhenever. so call me a "Fanboy" if you like, It's my money.

damn, if gamestop clerks try to sell me a game like its the second coming of christ ill tell him to stick it up his arse i don't care how good it is lol

A gamestop clerk was annoyed that you were buying used games?

You should notify his regional manager. He'll be out on his ass in a minute :P

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think the whole thing is just silly. I just dont understand.... you buy non nintendo games used by default just to show ur loyalty to Nintendo??? you show ur loyalty to Nintendo everytime you buy there console and games. I am at a total lost on why somebody do this. What makes this worse is your a Multi owner.. whats the point of getting a console to not fully support?

TBh i think what the clerk said was pretty much correct and aligns with what I thought when I read your 'reasoning' also..but hey like you say, your money your games, who cares

I don't no whats weirder, you're buying strategy or a gamestop employee turning down used game sales.

As for you, lighten up. Buying games for other systems doesn't hurt nintendo.

It isn't the least bit hypocritical. His intention is not to slag other games, but to deny the other console manufacturers revenue. You hardly support them buy simply playing the game. Hell if you buy the console used, but download demos or play games (on PSN) you are even hurting them overall. It is mostly pointless, and self defeating as you harm the studios developing games more than console makers, but not really hypocritical.

You hurt the studios to the tune of 30+$,

where you only hurt the console manufacturer by 10$ or so,

while you support gamestop's practice of selling used games for 90% of what they cost as new.
