In a war their are no winners. Only losers.

Btw I remembered we learned the UK also treated to put pressure on the dollar something that is related during the Suez war when USA treated to put pressure on the £.

NO!

We (USA) lost.

Not because of our troops, or South Vietnamese troops, but the unwillingness of President Johnson to leave the war to his commanders to win it. Had our military been allowed to attack the proper strategic targets...It would of been easily winnable.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

NO!

So what did the Uk won during the last wars?

The U.S. lost.

We will lose Afghanistan too.

Well honestly a lot of the south Vietnamese wanted to be communist so it hard to win plus everyone hated the president (or whatever) so yeah we lost but you cant really win political wars with aggression.

I'd say it was a draw militarily and a loss politically, beginning with the Tet Offensive, which was a huge defeat for North Vietnam militarily, but politically sent the war downhill for the US by showing that the Viet Cong could just waltz up to the US embassy in Saigon and control it.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

well North Vietnam casualties WERE considerably higher but in the end the american couldn't reach the objective.
eventually the communists captured Saigon and all was over for the americans...
though the vietnam economy plummeted since they had to pay for the war reparations.
irony is that they depended on the US economy to live lol.

Thats what happens when you let the media and politicians run wars. ANd when did the North take saigon?

viet cong never took control of the embassy; they busted a hole in the wall and were killed when they tried to get in. The only controled the chancery grounds. They stayed there until the reinforcements arrived and killed them. Walter Cronkite lied on the air.

America lost

War in Afghanistan is going down the same path.

Next on the list - Somalia
