The main reason why I made this thread was someone already made a thread called "HD owners why havent you bought a Wii" so I wanted to see the what the Wii owners thought about owning a HD console. My main thoughts were of course the games, I was expecting a lot of people saying the games on the Wii is much better, but the majority replied saying it was money that was one of the main problems which surprised me, I wasn't expecting that, also I didn't say "see it's money"? read my post carefully again.

You probably don't know me to well because obviously I do think the HD consoles are better because I don't the like the Wii, I'm sure a lot of people know that here. I was just curious to what the Wii owners thought of the HD consoles, that is all, your blowing everything way out of proportion calling this a troll thread.

Fair enough. I still don't like you trying to discredit the Wii like that though. And I didn't see as many money issue replies as you say you did, idk.

IMHO and MHO only I beleive that any video game fan that would not love to own all 3 consoles is a bit of a fanboy, maybe inside even if they don't want to admit it to themselves. Oh and btw you said you would "sell" the Wii. Well my friend thats a decision made on money as well. Getting a Wii for free and selling it for $ is the same thing as not wanting to get a HD system because you don't want to spend the money on it. Its either have the money or the console. You spend the money on it or you sell it, it's still a choice of haveing the money or the system. So the real reason you don't own a Wii is because you would rather have the money, right? Probibly to spend on HD games. Well then you know how the Wii owners feel.

I thought it was all about the games not money. But in my case it's about the games, if someone were to offer me a free Wii with all it's games I wouldn't take it.

It's pretty obvious what holds the ps3 back. It's a great system.

But I doubt you would really do that with a wii. Monster Hunter Tri, Muramasa, and lots of other games using the snes style controller are exemplary of playstation brand gaming.

SNES style = PlayStation brand?

Was that a funny accident or were you trolling the PlayStation brand for using a SNES controller for all 3 of their consoles?

Well I am a fanboy, I know it, everyone knows it, I'm a Sony fanboy. That's why I only like the PS3, and I don't like the X360 or Wii.

I also said I wouldn't take the Wii all together, I still stand by that. The only reason why I would take it and sell it is because I'm really cheap and just thinking about losing a couple hundred bucks drives me nuts.

Haha, well, I initially meant that they are similar to playstation "core" gaming, and are easy transitions for a playstation user since the control style is the same. However, now that you mention it, I do feel that the SNES true successor was playstation, although N64 did a hell of a job fighting for that title. However, by ps2 and gamecube I feel that it was pretty much a done deal. I guess it was just a funny accident. I've never really thought of any of this before now.

@ixis Naugus you make a lot of sense even for a 360 fan (joking) seriously, though there is a misconception that the PS360 are nothing but fragfests, and their is also misconceptions that Wii is just for waving yours arms around. I have both I could tell you that neither is true. its about knowledge, you have to do your research. The HD consoles have Wii beat in various different genres. FPSs, sports, racing, fighting, RPGs, I'll even go so far to say, they have more platforms (360 has a lot of platforms). WII offers the experience that you just cant get on the HDs(until Move and Natal, maybe) I enjoy my PS3 more than my Wii. I have 30+ games for PS3 and about 7 for Wii. My point is if you are an enthusiastic gamer, your not going to limit yourself to a company that only cares about profits. you gotta expand (unless your broke, then sorry about that)

I just picked up a PS3 in Dec and I really like it, but I see it as an in between. My Wii is the social gaming device, my PC is for big, epic, in-depth hardcore and unforgiving games like ArmA 2--but the PS3 serves a great niche for when I just want to play by myself but not get so deep into a game I can't get out for 4-5 hours.

If I had to get rid of 1, it'd be the PS3, but not without a whimper.

I don't own a 360 anymore because they're massive pieces of red ringing shit. I'll never own one again. However, if MS had made their console not a piece of unreliable shit PS3 probably would be in way worse shape than it currently is.

The majority? Really? Did you count all the posts to affirm such a thing? Because to me it seems the majority of people in that thread talked about gaming library and not having enough time to play on other consoles (because there is too many good games on the Wii) rather than not having enough money to buy an HD console...

okay, i admit it: i listed money as a major factor. ya got me.

that's not to say, however, that time and software library aren't major issues. I only listed the 360 as a possible purchase because both HD consoles have very similar 3rd party offerings and i prefer the 360's exclusives. even then, after i buy all the shooters, fighters, rpgs, and platformers that i want, my 360 library would probably be roughly half the size of my wii library (i will NOT be getting natal).

case in point: i bought the wii not simply because i love nintendo, but because the wii had the games i wanted. i considered a 360, even a ps3 back in the beginning, but in the end, i chose the system that let me play super smash bros, metroid, legend of zelda, and super mario galaxy over the systems that had halo, killzone, modern warfare, and bioshock. call me "casual" or "kiddy", but those are the games that peak my interests.
