That looks to me, like some sort of incoming KZ2 DLC... seriously, it took them like 4-5 years to make KZ2, making a new one in just 2 years of the same standard just doesn't seem plausible to me, especially since that picture doesn't look any better than KZ2 anyway, you'd expect one of the graphical kings to be getting even more graphic intensive in the third bout...

First of all, most of the time spent on Killzone 2 was put into developing the engine.

Second of all, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune = 2007. Uncharted 2 = 2009. 2 years, and we got a longer, and vastly superior looking game.

I'd bank money on it that you're right,  that's artwork for sure.

But even still, I highly doubt this is a picture of KZ3...

It is plausible. As I see it, developing a new graphics engine takes a lot of time, and for Killzone 3 they don't need to develope a new one. They just have to improve the engine a bit, that's it.

Screenshot looks real to me and it looks great.
