Your first team is boring. It's like "I take the stronger one and win". Your second team as some cool shiny tough. At least your teams are legit. Cheating is annoying....

Thats why snorlax is used in a lot of tournaments. Substitute is quite a nasty move if used right xD |
The reason I don't use Normal-type Pokemon is because the majority of the moves they know are Normal-type which isn't super effective against anything.
I also don't use Rock-type, Ground-type, or duel-type Rock/Ground Pokemon because they have too many weaknesses (Water, Grass, Ice Steel, Fighting, Ground). Rhyperior, however, is an exception because of its high defense and attack. I teach my Pokemon Rock-type and Ground-type moves instead.
I'm unbeatable at Mario Kart Wii and Pokémon Battle Revolution!
Dare to try?

god help a snorlax in the way of my gallade lol, unless it has focus sash :/
Though i generally train many alternatives, so i'm kinda in the process now of making my extra teams.
Right now my main uses are:
Starmie with an expert band (1.3x any super effective attack): it knows psychic (STAB x 1.5, if super effective, 2x1.5x1.3), Hydro Pump (same as psychic), Thunder (if super effective 1.3x2) and recover.
Flareon with choice scarf (sometimes more of a hinderance): Iron Tail (eventually to be replaced with superpower), fire fang, overheat and shadow ball (it has a great Sp.def so its a charm against psychics and ghosts). I basically use flareon as a 1-stop killer. Superpower and overheat both weaken on the stats, but have immense power playing to flareons abilities.
Dragonite (2 different ones) - one with extreme speed, earthquake, outrage and aqua tail. The other with outrage, fire blast, ice beam and draco meteor. A dragonite double team is awesome, especially one knowing extreme speed.
Gardevoir - psychic, shadow ball, hypnosis and thunderbolt. If the enemy is faster than me, i'll usually use hypnosis unless i'm sure i can kill them in one hit.
Gallade - Focus blast, double team, protect, psycho cut. The protect usually helps if someone intends to use fly or another two turn move (not very common). Double team may eventually be replaced as often enough, people manage to hit me after the first.
Garchomp - My speediest pokemon (faster than my starmie) and immense power. stone edge (for flying and ice), dig, dragon claw and sandstorm (to be replaced)
there are more like empoleon, a pending aggron (with head smash 150 damage plus stab but no recoil because it has rock head ability), Slowking (for a trick room pokemon, would be a beast with aggron as a double team), eventual evee team (in the process of EV training, swampert, venasaur and a helluva lot more. Oh and a pending slaking.
Basically, you need speedy (unless you have an uber-trick room team *cough*dragonite*cough*) moves, a pokemon with a lot of type advantages (my starmie covers 7 types, could even be 9 with blizzard/ice beam), a wall pokemon (you could even let it use reflect, now that would be gay wouldn't it), a strong pokemon, and generally good move pools.
