Forums - Gaming Discussion - If You're a Core Gamer That Hasn't Purchased a Wii yet

I'd like too debate the fact that there's no such thing as a core gamer who hasn't purchased a wii yet, Because without a wii he/she isn't a core gamer.

If you're a core gamer and you still haven't been persuaded by the wii's offerings (or lack of key third party offerings) to purchase a Wii yet, then would outstanding reviews from major publications like the 10 out of 10 for SMG2 from IGN make you any more likely to purchase one in the near future?

I don't think you guys get it.

The main issue isn't the lack of good third party offering on the Wii.

The issue is that my console of choice already releases more good games yearly than I have time to play..( and I have a lot of free time...).

So why the heck would I buy another console ????

Same thing for me. I just don't have enough free time to take on another console and its library of games.

No.

SMG was acclaimed as the best Mario title. Yet I have played it, and wouldnt rate it in the top 3.

IMO, every franchise of Nintendo's I loved growing up, has been dumbed down. It's like plying Halo with paintballs for guns.

sorry mario is a specific type of game, they are all the same, they are all good but they are truthfully all the same thing, yes they excel at gameplay but they only have gameplay, no graphics, story or anything else and i dont think they innovate at all, so no, in truth there is very little variety in the nintendo developed games is like seen a disney movie you know what you are getting from disney even if its good and still disney innovates more than nintendo. I will buy one for last story but not for all the nintendo games.

No I wont buy one.

I agree 100% with Ail.

I just dont have the feeling that I need those games. I loved the SNES but mainly because of the RPGs. Honestly I just had Zelda and Mario when it comes to Nintendo titles. And I bought Twilight Princess for Gamecube. Mario is not enough to make me buy a console. In 6 months are more PS3 games released which interest me then in the whole lifetime of the Wii and since I dont even have the time to play all those games it would be senseless to buy a Wii I wouldnt have the time to play it. And I would probably finish all games I like for the WII in 1-2 weeks. Maybe for 99.

Game reviews don't entice me at all any more. Maybe ten years ago but certainly not today, I've learned my lesson.

No, I wouldnt get one for that game.

I don't have time to play these games, so I don't want to spend the money on one, when i'll have more free time, maybe.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Nope i will not get a wii. I'll have to go with what radha said. To me the wii is just built on old franchises that i dont really care for. I dont see any games that entice me. I love games that have good graphics and gameplay, its really difficult for me to get into games if they are missing one of these. Plus i hate that i cant use a regular remote if i feel like it, the wii's remote just frustrates the crap out of me.

EVERY GAMERS WORST NIGHTMARE...THE TANGLING CABLES MONSTER!

       Coffee is for closers!

SMG (coming from a Nintendo fan) sucks.

It's the glossy, touched-up version of SM 64 sans the depth.

There are games worth buying on the Wii, but this one won't merit purchasing the system.
