Sorry but It is an AAA title ! The story/screenplay is awesome, the mood is fabulous, the gameplay is cool. It's clearly a must-have ! One of the best games on Xbox 360. And one of the best games of the 5 (even 10) past years...

It's sad that gamers prefer to buy Red dead Redemption which is a "GTA skin" with less hours (about 20h to finish it with 100%)....Alan Wake is a different experience. It's not an action game, it's not a umpteenth FPS-TPS game...

the OP was talking about reviews

Great game. Beautiful, well written and spooky as hell. Just what I was hoping for really. Sorry you hate it and M$ and the 360 and it's fans so much. Nightmare difficulty is going to be an absolute bitch I suspect.

RDR in 20 hours? I'm at 37% and 18h. Some people just don't 'get' wrpgs. What's the rush?

The critics just love R* don't they? I'm finally starting to see why. This is much more fun than GTAIV imo and not as overrated. I'd put it around 92-3 tied with ME2 which lacked some of the rpg elements I love. Wake would be down at 87 with Fable 2 on my personal scorecard. My opinions are of tremendous importance to me.

To me it is AAA. One of the best games I have played in a while in fact.

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

LOL. He sent that to you?

If he has played it, he would know that the image quality is imo better than that of say Gears which is native 720p. Remedy have used many techniques to get the most from there engine. It's not all about resolution. Dont let 540p fool anyone. It's so crisp, and looks amazing. Easily best looking 360 game and 360 engine. Cant wait to see what they have already improved.

Remedy say the following:

"We already have a few bigger changes in mind that could free up as much as 30 per cent processing time, but they were too big to do for Alan Wake 1. But it's not all about improving the engine. We also learned what kind of content works and looks the best with the engine we have, and can, from day one, make cooler stuff in the future. Expect the downloadable content to benefit from this already somewhat."

I just wish they would have (gasp) delayed it a bit more to polish it up. I got annoyed when walking up the stairs behind the Dr and he would take 2 steps per stair (with one in mid air). There are also several cut scenes that have body parts going through solid objects.

I haven't noticed any collision problems during normal game play though.

Subjective question is subjective.

I'm 3/4 through. It's AAA, anyone who doesn't play it is really really missing out. I haven't been this pulled into a game for years.

A demo could have helped Alan Wake, it didn't help splintercell but that was a bad demo. If the Alan Wake demo could make people curious about the story then it would certainly have sold better.

I haven't bought it myself but only because I stand by my X euros = X hours of gameplay standard. Atleast 75% of the X hours has to be from singleplayer aswell. This means I won't get many (if not most) console games until they are half priced and in Alan Wake's case I may have to get it second hand a few years from now.
