The first Silent Hill creates the world of the series. The second game perfects it. and 3 and 4 are great. Skip the new ones.

1 is a blast, play it on PC!



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Shattered Memories is brilliant. I wouldn't skip that one.

 

I forgot about that one, haven't played it yet. The concept for it did sound interesting.

I am really happy for all of your input :)
I didn't ask this to be stupid, I just haven't played any horror games for real (besides some hours of Resident Evil 4) and I just wanted to make sure I started the right place!

I have now ordered number 2, and will get number 1 and 3 soon (was number 4 I already had)
Looking forward to play them all :)

Yes easily worth it.
Popped the game in a few months ago and still made me freak out/get scared. No game has really done that to me lately.

skip SH4?i know many hate that game but its a great game and by far more horror and well writen by the most horror games out there.Very very creepy..i agree that its a little confusing at some times but its great..i cant forget the scenes in the Room and especially when i looked out of the door eye...oh my F***ng god!!!!this twisted story its like a movie...i loved the story of the Room...
And Fatal Frame 2 is a very good survival horror.To be percice its one of the best on the ps2..also great atmosphere and amazing scenario..

i totally agree with CGI..Homecoming was good.Especially the boss fights was really good.but the old ones had something else..soul...
Homecoming had a connection with the silent hill but not a strong one...i loved it though...

I agree with CGI-quality, Homecoming is totally substandard in every respect - crap story, dated graphics, no scares, dull boss fights.

The 4 early games are all good. Part 2 especially so. I even thought part 4 got very good towards the end despite some negative reviews - if you ran low on candles and the room got more and more possessed - very creepy.
