Give people money for each trophy/achievement they earn

so say 0.1 pence for each trophy they earn

0.5 pence for every gold trophy

& 10 pence for every platinum trophy

Trophy's can only be earnt on on new versions of the game & the game will have a code coming with it, so if that code is used up its finished. And the ability to earn money, however small will motivate people to get new games!

I think each game disc should have a one time code for online play limited to either one console or one account or gamer tag. if the person sells the game and some one else buys it their should be an option in the games menu to "re-register" the game which would cost the player something like $2-$5 so the developer would make money on the used games sales if ppl wanted to play online. This would make lots of money wit games like COD and Halo ,IMO.

I Hate the fact that all these pillows are contaminated by retard!!

Nothing. As long as my game gets spread as far as possible, I would be happy.

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

If I was the developer I would work with the publisher urging the publisher to include lockout technology in the consoles they sell. Essentially link every game purchased to a consoles gamer account. For the Wii MyNintendo for Microsoft GamerTag's for Sony PSN membership. For consoles that are not online make a user system like that online. For example a Mii on the Wii, every game purchased gets regestered to that Mii, the game can then not be played with any other Mii.You could drag your Mii onto an SD card and play the game on someone elses Wii, but without your Mii nobody else can play your game.Have a code found in every game, that code is then locked into corresponding code on the Wii2, NexBox , PS4.

This method would also fight piracy as hackers would now have to hack each and every individual copy. Making games way harder to pirate. This way gamers could not sell their used games to anyone because without the gamertag no deal. This would unfortunetly ruin the game rental market as well as used games sales.

But ruining the rental market would also boost profits as people who were interested but got turned off by rental or gamers who rent games beat them then return them. These gamers would now have to buy their own legit copies of their games. Their would be way more spontaneous sales and in the end I bet sales could triple.

I think this could likely be the next step and it would almost illiminate used games sales , piracy and rental's. All which would mean way more profit for the developers and publishers!

The gaming industry can't combat used game sales. It's impossible. Video games are not like Music, they are a disposable medium. New games are constantly coming up and gamers want to move on to new games. To make way for the new games, they sell their old games to fund the purchase of new games. In the PC gaming industry, where the resale culture is almost nonexistant, "honest" PC gamers have mostly embraced Steam (sadly). The majority of PC gamers on the other hand have said "screw this" and decided to pirate PC games to all hell. The PC gaming industry is a mess. Console gamers would not embrace a world without game resale and rentals. Console gamers rely heavily on selling used games to fund new game purchases and on rentals to avoid paying $60 for 10-12 hour singleplayer games. Without the ability to sell games, gamers are going to have less money to buy new games. These anti-used game sales crusaders are shooting themselves in the foot.

I dunno shooting themselves in the foot sounds alittle off. Less money may lead to less purchases. But it still means more profit for the developer. Because every time a used game is sold thats on less new game sold and their for 10-20$ less per developer. I'm sure the developer would rather sell 3-4 old games brand new then one new game. It would work itself out!

No, that logic doesn't work. You are assuming that gamers would cough up the extra dough to buy new all the games they used to buy used or rent. And that on top of that they are going to keep every single game they buy and just let it sit on a shelf collecting dust (I've already done a lot of that already and it's a bad habit). All in the name of charity to "support the developers". Sorry, that's not going to happen. Money doesn't grow on trees and this isn't a charity. This is capitalism. Rent, mortgages and bills, food, bus tickets, gasoline, insurance, maintaining a social life, education (if you are in school), etc. cost money and gamers who live with their parents can't rely on their parents for free shelter and food forever and have to save up some money to buy a condo/house eventually. People gotta have some money set aside for a rainy day (ie. accident, losing job to the shitty economy, healthcare, big ticket purchases that they need like a house/condo, car, computer, etc.)

Bottom line: Even if console games turns into PC gaming where the resale market is almost dead and rentals don't exist, gamers aren't going to spend beyond their means. The PC gaming industry is a wasteland for game publishers. Unless you are Blizzard, Valve (heck even Valve has went into bed with the Xbox 360. That's where the money is) or an MMO, casual games or "free games" (ie. browser games, facebook games, etc) company, you aren't making shit on the PC. Go to metacritic and look at the top rated PC games of 2010. And what do you see? A bunch of games that sell more on the Xbox 360 and/or PS3, a bunch of more niche PC exclusives that barely sell much and some MMOs and casual games. If console gaming turns into PC gaming, the Mass Effects, Bioshocks and Splinter Cells are going to sell less on the consoles too and console gaming will pretty much just be about niche games, MMOs, a handful of online games, casual games and "free games". It'll be in a similar state to PC gaming. Why do you think PC games get PIRATED TO HELL? Because PC gamers don't wanna pay $50-60 for games that they can't resell.

Also the used sales market does benefit the game publishers. Let's say a gamer has a $300 per year budget to buy videogames. Thats good for 5 new videogames per year at $60 a piece. Now let's say that gamer sells those 5 games and gets back $150. That's good for 2 extra $60 games and 1 budget $30 game. So in the end, that gamer would contribute $450 in revenue to game publishers, having bought 7 $60 games and 1 $30 game brand new.

make better games. Especially for the wii

By fighting used game sales you are pushing people toward piracy. Ironically by fighting piracy you are pushing even more legitimate buyers toward it as well.
