Give's me more reason to buy a Playstation over an Xbox or Wii next gen.

I'm also replaying Uncharted 2 for the third time, I have now come to the conclusion that it's the 5th greatest game of all time, so Sony must be doing something right.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Absolutely.

Why waste your money on 3rd parties, paying them for a game (and largely not supervising it), when you can just build our own studios that know your hardware and that you're in close ties with? The latter always have a higher potential for putting out the better game.

Uncharted 2, Last Guardian enough said

I think if you want to stick around as a hardware developer you need to focus on first party atleast to some degree. That way when times are tough and the 3rd party guys have their attention taken up elsewhere you can still count on having some great games.

I'm hoping that their apparent focus on first party development means they won't sell at as much of a loss next generation so they can be profitable even if they aren't winning in marketshare. This would help Sony stick around in the gaming industry for a much longer time.

I thought with the loss of many exclusives early this gen Sony realized and had already been focusing on 1st party. About half of my PS3 collection is from Sony.

ahhh uncharted 2....such a good game....only ps3 game i haven't traded in besides ff13...

Independence in business is a good thing. The more SONY can provide outside of 3rd parties, the more they can bolster the appeal of their hardware. It's like a city on a hill that cannot be missed/ignored. This also attracts 3rd party developers to approach on their own rather than to be convinced of other reasons.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

Yes of course it is. Now that PS3 has a 35 million userbase (or so) 3rd parties will come to Sony on their own. The only thing differentiating the PS3 from the 360 (besides blu-ray) is first party games.

Considering that they should have done so from the very beginning, yes.

I LOVE ICELAND!
