Strange but true most people find it harder to observe images of animals in pain than other human beings.  Intellectually I'm more disturbed when humans are involved but like most people emotionally I have an even stronger reaction if its an animal.

I think it's mostly we assosiate animals like we do children. They are innocent and are not  capapable of knowing right and wrong as we know it.

That's a serious problem with society. When we start feeling horrible about animals being tortured, more so than human beings being tortured and killed, well, something is seriously wrong there.   

I never said I didnt feel horrible about that man being tortuered and killed,  it just didnt bother me mentally & emotionally as much as the dog torture video.   And no I dont think there is anything wrong with that.  Its not like I value the life of the dog as greater than that guys life,  but KingFate has it correct,  animals are associated to children because they are innocent and dont understand right from wrong.  They only have their instincts. 

Also the people that did that to thay guy, will probably get life in prison maybe even the death penalty, they will get what is coming to them.   But the people in that dog torture video?   Not even a slap on the wrist.

therein lies the problem. What you are doing (whether you realize it or not) is putting the well being of an animal before the life of  human being.

I wish they made more children's shows like that. They are WAY too upbeat these days. If anything this gave kids a bit more realistic view on the world.

In your mind, you are indeed putting the well being of an animal in front of the life of a human being, you feel sorry for the dog, not as sorry for the human being.
