Forums - Sony Discussion - Vgchartz ! Lets talk about God of War.

Yeah i remember when i first played GOW as well. a friend recommended it to me and i had no idea what to expect, but i wasnt expecting much... fast foward a week and i was completely blow away. i thought GOW was just a one off, i didnt think GOW2 could be as phenominal as the first.

...i'm so glad i was wrong, i loved GOW2 more than the first and still love it more to this day.

now i know it says no haters on this thread, but i am a fan of GOW and a true fan will admit if they were dissappointed by GOW3. which i was. if anyone says they liked it fair enough, but there are fans like myself who feel let down by the grand finale.

GOTY for me, God of War 3 made me jizz as much as MGS4. I still give the edge to MGS4 due to that being the only game I cried like a sissy. But GoW3 is by far the most badass game on the planet (Imo).

KRATOS FUCKEN RULES AND I WANT ANOTHER GOW WITH HIM!!!!!!!

...Wow, that was long.

I must agree with you, though. God of War II stands as my second favourite game of all time (behind only the game which you skipped over to buy the original God of War >_>), and God of War III is my second favourite game of the generation (first being Uncharted 2)

On a fine day in the Fall of 2005 I had decided to trade in my PSP, it was a hard decision on my part because I loved my PSP, but I also really wanted a PS2. For year's I had been the odd kid out, always siding with Nintendo and allowing other teenager's to point and sneer at my little purple box, at that point I had enough of the sneering and the 'lunch box' jokes, so I traded in my PSP for a PS2. With that PS2 I got a two controller's, the well known FIFA 05 and a game called God of War. I have to remind you that I'd always been kind of a Nintendo fanboy, I still have my two Gamecubes to this day (along with my game collection), but that night my gaming lifestyle changed forever.

I kid you not, that from that day forward I became a Sony fan and a God of War lover. My love for God of War also allowed me to meet someone who today is my best friend, we both shared a love for God of War and would spend classes talking about the game.

Two year's passed and God of War 2 was released, I bought it on the first day and finished the whole game in two night's. Then finished it again in God mode and then again in Titan mode (that was just a head fuck).

When the 360 launched my mum won a Pro model at work and she gave it to me. I kept that 360 for month's, did not open it all and I struggled through that torture until the PS3 release date. I got the 360, I put together my saving's of $700 and I bought a PS3 for the price of $999, all that for God of War 3.

I waited and waited for year's. MGS4 came, Bioshock came, Oblivion came, Uncharted came, but none of them could quench my God of War thirst. Then the teaser's rolled in, then the trailer's rolled in, then the developer interview's rolled in, the demo came and then on March 18th of 2010, I picked up my collector's addition of God of War 3. I got home, put it in my PS3 and then didn't stop. I played the game until the wee hour's of the morning and when I was done, I sat there and watched the credit's roll on (as I do with all game's I really enjoyed). The wait was definitely worth it.

OP: You made me read some long ass God of War storey, so I wrote my own =D.

P.S. GOW 2 is better than GOW 3, just sayin.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

GOW 3 saved me from the boredom of Final Fantasy XIII. Otherwise I didn't finish the game yet, and didn't read the post to avoid spoilers.

It is truly badass!

You Sir, are a Hero!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

There is no question GOW series is one of the all time best. GOW 3 was pure brilliance.

i love gow, played gow 3 3 times and i'm planning to do it again in 3 months. i really hope they make a new one.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

I just started playing the GOW series about 2 months ago, and I give it credit for re-discovering the gamer I used to be. Games are fun again, where for years I hardly finished any games because I was so wrapped up in collecting every thing possible. I would forget to just play and enjoy the experience. Now I'm going through my collection with a different mindset and already I'm seeing results.

God of War is basically a game where you run around being generally awesome.
