graphical capabilites yes but as for CPU and RAM usage there's still a lot of techniques to utilized them more effectively.
Is this suppose to be the answer to squill's thread? if so LOL sum1 actually did it!
I don't think the 360's is maxed out. However, the media could be the issue here as well. 8.5 GB is all a DVD can hold to cram the game on the disc they may have needed to use lower res textures, etc.

????? With the exception of advertising, this would be news to me. |
What would you live on for 5 years without money for development? If I'm not mistaken, MS is the publisher for Alan Wake (???), so that would mean money from MS is kind of essential here, isn't it?
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Remedy has already said they have already figured out how to add another 30% to the processing power or whatever, so I think that answers your question right there.
yes, yes it is.
not.
Alan wake was originally designed for PC, not the other way around, and as such it pushes the 360 to it's limit. It's a dual threaded game, and probably uses most of the CPU. YES the Xbox 360 is MAXED OUT. That's not even a discussion. It's a 3 core CPU with a Radeon GPU. PCs maxed that crap out 4 YEARS AGO.
The PS3 was maxed out with Uncharted 2 and GoW3. It took them longer to max it out because it was harder to program for. Since it has 1 CPU and 7 SPUs, not 3 CPUs like the Xbox 360. Different architecture, higher learning curve. More power on PS3? Yes, but only if you put the time into programming for it. Will it make a huge difference? NO. The PS3 hardware is not THAT much better than the 360.
All you're going to find now are tricks to make games look better. Rendering them in lower res with more AA, or using more aggressive level of detailing (which Crysis 2 for console does a LOT). It's not a complicated discussion, it's just a fact.
I'm sure someone will dispute me though.
YES
Oh BTW Microsoft sucks for taking Alan Wake off the PC. It would have looked so much better in 1080P on my GTX 470. Instead I'll be playing it in sub 720P at 30FPS on my overheating Xbox 360.
