Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gamecube and Wii games are playable in stereoscopic 3D and 1080p...

You CAN make ISOs by yourself. You just need the right drive.

Also, the ahrdware set-up he posted is hard on the edge. I have a 3.1 GHz AMD 6000+ and a Geforce GTX 275, and I can barely run most Wii games at 720p. At lower resolutions I can turn on AA and AF, though and it's still looks way better than on a real Wii.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Win7
3GB ram DDR2 688Mhz
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT Mobile
Core 2 Duo 2.7Ghz

Is it enough? Also, I can put the Wii games inside the DVD rom and it will read it?

Do I need to put the sensor bar below or above my monitor so the pointer funcionality is in the emulator?

We have a quite similar hardwere configuration, I've tried some games, most of em' won't run well and have issues, and no you can't run your Wiigames directly from your DVD drive, you have to download the ISO, making the ISO by yourself is also difficult, since the DVD drive won't recognize the disc ,you would have to modify the drive to do that, so it's quite complicate.

Personally, if you are curious, I suggest you to download WindWaker, it works quite well and looks very good in high-definition.

Yeah its true, my DVD drive doesn't read Wii discs... WTF!!!!

That sounds way too complicated already... But I'd like to see Metroid Prime 3 running in 3D and 1080p, yes sir...

There is not an emulator named after a fish last I checked. Barring some strange upstart emulator I think you need a refresher course on the various classifications of animals. Specifically mammal vs fish.

Lol. XD

@ everyone asking what CPU you need to have

I have amd Phenom X4 965, 5 GB ram abd GTX295. GTX295 or similar is a must for 3D but if you only want to experience Zelda TP at 720p or higher 2D you will need a a CPU thats similar processing power. Here is a chart to help...

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X4+965

I had to tweak the settings a bit to get it working at solid 30 frames per second per eye for high end games. Something like Maramusa:Demon Blade runs amazingly and 60 fps per eye(and believe it or not looks really good in 3D vision despite being 2D), while Metroid prime chugs a bit and goes down to 25fps when action gets heavy(bosses), but even then its still playable...

The only other game I tried is GC Resident Evil Remake and it is unplayable. Everything works but frame rate is in 10s... I don't have any more ISOs. But I may be legally downloading TvsC today and House of the Dead Overkill as I own those games :)

@Gnizmo
You're right. Howmany people have made that fish/mammal mistake in their life? :)

Yeah, I tried turning AA and AF on and was like..."thats ok, i think you guys will sit this one out."

I found a sweetspot at 1766x992 due to my samsung 3D DLP TV having slight overscan and blowing up the picture to 1080p. Its a massive improvement over the Wiis 480p. MEtroid prime 3 looks as good as a ps360 game

"fish-named emulator"

EDIT: oh, i couldn't bring myself to leave the comment, i'd feel like such an ass >_<

anyway, you got the idea :p

Oh, I would really like to try Metroid in 3D.
I wonder if the N6 will enable those features?

n6-? N64? If so...then yes, there is an emulator that works in 3D and plays n64 games. However I have not gotten to it yet.

With Dreamcast 3d emulatoin, GC/Wii 3D stuff...Halo REach, Alan wake...Gallaxy 2...my plate is full :)

I meant the next Nintendo console.

Here is a good benchmark video I found of what to expect.

He is running - Dolphin-x64-r4628, E8400 @ 3.8ghz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 260 216 Core. Settings were at 1080p 4AA 16AF DX9 mode.

Its a little slow...but if he took down the AA he would be perfect.
