actually things change very easily before the release of slim the gap was 8 m and ps3 sales were awful and it was doomed(from 360 fanboys for being 10k away from 360 in weekly sales at this point of the year) but as you see slim effect continues on until today 1 sep 2009-8 may 2010 ,9 months non-stop outselling 360 without losing a single week  WW  and that trend won 't stop until fall when companies enter price-cuts remodelings in the market and such things

imo microsoft got too price cutting excited too early in the gen. now they have to rely on a damn motion device to get sales up.

What exactly are you disputing? He never said the slim effect had ever worn off, just that staying over 200k a week was never going to happen.

Human nature. People were comparing and making gifs when the GBA was outselling the PS3.

Also I don't know why people keep insisting that Natal is not the next XBox, MS has already said that it is and is treating it as such, with a huge marketing campaign to follow, Natal is the next XBox, that comes straight from the horse's mouth.

Well according to the FY shipment/sales article on the front page, alot of Nintendo supporters are comparing DS to PS2 in terms of the most successful "console" of all time. Which i dis agree with, because i never compare handhelds to home consoles as there is a number of variables to consider.

But that is just a comparison as to what's going on in this thread with comparing 360 to PSP or apples and oranges as i agree of how you put it..

the  reason people were comparing the GBA to the PS3 was that GBA was a dying systewm (much like the PS2 right now), while PS3 had just launched. So it was very comical having the GBA aoutsell the PS3 week after week.

It would be the equivalent if PS2 outsold the 360 for a couple of weeks. Or if the DS outsells one of the current gen systems 1 year after the 3ds launch.
