Rest assured. If adjustments are needed, they will come. They always do. However the site needs to figure out where the discrepency lies in order to make an adjustment. If it can't do that, then there's really nothing to be adjusted.

Yes. The site can be, and is wrong, some of the time. No site or tracker is fully accurate. But these numbers given by Sony are sold to RETAILERS. Not to consumers.

The formula for working out an estimate is as follows:

f = average number of fanboys per console per year.

I'm sure there are other variables that you can throw in there. But, frankly, this joke is too lame for me to bother working them out.

Yeah, because the 20 mile radius around your local area is indicative of the 36 (+ all Eurozone countries that the PS3 was released in) (by Wikipedia's count) countries that the PS3 is shipped to. Just a guess, but you're extrapolating anecdotal data from ~20 square miles to represent the situation of (at a rough guess) 10 million square miles.

Also, the world is a very big place with a lot of other retailers besides those big ones in the US. So 1million worldwide sitting on various store shelves, trucks, boats, plains, trains, and even in Sony's various manufacturers warehouses about to be loaded can and does very easily equal 1m at any given time.

If you look at the latest fiscal figures in one of the many threads right now you'll notice as of the end of March 2010 all three companies had a million or so plus units 'on shelves'. Its a normal situation.

While VGC is definitely not 100% correct, they are close enough to be considered law for hardware numbers.

I don't know why I even post in these threads anymore. Its always the same with some poor schmuck that can't realize to a manufacturer, sold to retailer is always 'units sold' where as sold to the rest of the world is 'sold to end user'. Then they always argue with help from other tards that XXX console needs to be adjusted! When in reality it would mean the same difference as all sales on the site are below the shipped/sold to retailers figures, everyone would get adjusted up and in effect cancel it all out.

In the end its still the same. Wii >>>> 360 >> PS3 and DS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSP.

You would think, but in a few months when the next quarterly report comes out there will be new threads with the same idiotic arguement that PS360 is way undertracked. Funny how it always is more prevalent with PS3 and then 360 and never for Wii. Must have something to do with the overall position of said console.
