3rd Gen for me I started at 5 years old back in 1987 with the SEGA Master System and played a lot of NES because all my friends had the NES.

First console I played was an Atari 2600. Technically, it was DURING the 3rd generation, but the NES hadn't taken a major foothold in the US yet, so Ataris were still the console of choice.

I played most of the 1st gen stuff way back when... but I really started 2nd gen with the Atari 2600.
Since then, I've picked up every system in every generation, but truth be told stopped being a full time gamer around probably the 5th gen.
I game. You game. We game.
I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Late second generation. I must have been 2 or 3 trying to play the Atari 2600 at a neighbors house. NES was the first console we had at my house though.
I was mostly a microcomputer gamer (C64, Spectrum, BBC Micro), but I also remember dabbling with the 2600 and occasionally Vectrex.
