Forums - Gaming Discussion - When will you give up video gaming? (If ever?)

NEVER

unless games start to suck and there's no games out that i like, but then i'll probably just replay the old ones and buy vintage systems

When I stop having fun doing it.

Probably never, but i'm definatley playing less now than what i used to. Especially console game. Single Player games are fine and all, but once i play through them once i dont usually play them again, they mostly sit on my shelf.

Now multiplayer thats where its at! and thank God for the awesomness that is the PC multiplayer experience.

my one main fear is that i'll get too paralysed to be able to play any more. hopefully before that ever did happen virtual mind-controlled reality would be a.. reality. o.0

aaaaah. im scared :(

dito. i'll go back to my PS2, N64, well i could keep going back but i think my point has been made. thatswhy i keep all my old console in such good shape.

Tough to say. Not too long ago my interest level in games dropped pretty far because of a lack of J-RPGs. I just can't play much of anything else for too long; I can enjoy other RPGs and genres for a period, but then after I beat them (with the exception of Nintendo games and some other Japanese developers) they lose their drive factor.

Personally, I think games are too sequenced these days and focus too much on academic quality.

This will only take a moment of your time. *steals your watch*

Nintendo brought me into the gaming industry, but eventually lost me with the Gamecube. Microsoft and Sony have fulfilled my gaming needs as I become increasingly interested in mature titles. If they weren't around, i'd probably quit. I'd also feel sorry for third party companies. If it wasn't for the two of them, gaming wouldn't be as large as it is today. I give Nintendo all the respect in the world for what they introduced me to, but they haven't kept me as a gamer. I grew up and they couldn't grow up with me. They've innovated technology, but not concepts for the growing gamer. If Microsoft and Sony disappeared so would I (unless another brand came in to fill in for them).

when the best developers stop making good games.
