Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How long is lost odyssey?

I bought this game a long time ago, but my brother had to take the xbox 360 to school so I never got to finish it. However the reason why I'm asking you this, is because I have to finish studying. And then after that I get 1 week off before I go to Japan for 1.5 months.

I just don't want to start it if I can't beat it reasonably (which ) means rushing through it because then that ruins the experience for me (as that's what I did with FFIX and I ended up hating it for that reason until I played it again at normal speed). I want to restart it as well as I don't remember what the hells going on, and I don't want to start it and have to restart it in a month and a half for the same reason.

Thanks.

Edit: The reason why I don't google search it, is because I don't want spoilers. I don't even read the manual for this reason as I don't want to know the characters before hand.

ho shit... I can't beat that enjoyably in a week at how much I play games. I figured as much since it was made by sakaguchi :P, Just wanted to make sure Thanks

It took me about 35 hours to beat it. I could have finished it earlier, but choose to do a lot of extra stuff towards the end. I'm only missing the achievements which require a stupid amount of grinding.

takes even longer if you dont plan on just rushing through the story.

haha, Hmm, still I'll wait cause I'm at the edge. But, I don't really do achievements unless they coincide with the story in a useful way. Like in FFXIII I'm not gonna 5 star every mission :P

but I got offtopic

thanks for the information Outlaw, and Bubbleyhead

It's about as long as most Final Fantasy games. I only think FFIX and FFXII (maybe 13, haven't finished yet) is longer.

if you wanna rush thee game it will take about 40 hours.

I've got a little over 80 hours right now, but I've been doing all of the side quests and a lot of grinding to try and max out each character for the achievements. I'm guessing I'll have to invest another 40 to 80 hours to complete everything.

Same here. I had over 80 hours in and I hadn't explored all the extra areas on the final disk. I'm betting around 100 hours.

I did a lot of level grinding and exploring so I almost spend 100 hours on my first play through and I still missed a lot of achievements. For a game with random enemy encounters it can be too random at times especially the enemies that give you a lot of experience still one of my favorite games of the last decade despite that. Also its one of my favorite turn based JRPG's.
