This gen? No.

Next gen? Yes.

The next gen starts when Zelda Wii and 3DS come out.

The Wii is a 7th generation system, therefore Zelda Wii is a 7th generation game and will remain that way. It is currently the 7th generation if I have to remind you.

The Zelda Wii surprise is very likely to be that it will come out during the 8th gen, Wii2.

The only things I'd change with Nintendo WFC is:

-No Friend codes or only ONE friend code for all titles
-Better matchmaking servers or maybe add a dedicated server or two
-Better support for voice chat. Perhaps a bluetooth headset out of the box.

That's it. I'm happy with everything else. The service only needs to be on par with PSN.

It will be better.

I think the future online gaming model will be the one that SONY seems about to implement: free access, with added value to those who pay.
I am ok with it.

Nintendo will have better online and it'll have more games for it.

No, I don't want to pay for online, unless for a MMOG with real content.
Never forget that the online MP games will be unplayable in a few year, unless there's a lan or multiplayer (bye bye XBOX online gaming ^^)
I pay for my game, and I expect to have the full experience from what I've paid for.
Furthermore, it's not like Ninty has cash problems... If they really want to invest in online, then let them bring their cheque, not mine.

EDIT: paying for online is just one step closer to microtransaction, which is the plague of videogames.

First of all, I think this is going to happen in the future. And it is far better than having a company decide to pull online support (e.g., EA), making much of a game virtually useless.

The current system has to be drastically overhauled... and I think Nintendo realizes that it needs a "family friendly" version of XBLA to work right.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

You're probably right, it very well may be.

But if it was on par with PSN, I'd be happy. That's all I'm saying.
