How do i beat bartandalus. It seems whenever i have him almost staggered he just uses destrudo. I followed guide but it isnt really helping. What did you do to beat him?

take out the bulwarks first, use buffs and a SEN, RAV/RAV/COM to build up stagger and COM/COM/RAV to deal the damage, and of course heal whenever HP drops below 60% with MED/MED/SEN or MED/SYN/SEN.

what's your hp levels and character and which ones are you using

Is he the first of the final bosses?

Using Haste with sazh or hope helps a lot. Sabateur makes the ones after the first ones easier. I forgot what it did on the first one.

im using lightning, hope, and fang.
HP:
Lightning-1215
Hope-1285
Fang-1400

you can always use some shrouds for buffs to save time, and keep attacking during destrudo -- hit him enough (i'm not sure if its based off the number of hits or damage done) and it will weaken his attack, once this happens make sure you have a SEN in your party and you should be fine.

Poison is a very powerful spell...

Keep attacking him when he charges for destrudo, he wil say "ARGHH" after a while while he's still charging, that means destrudo wil only deal half the damage & that really shouldn't kill you.

Tht solved my problems, cus when he charged for destrudo I used to heal myself & cast buff/deuffs. But actually attacking him then with everyone was the best thing to do.
