Why don't people want developers to mover forward? Lets all be honest here. Pushing the 360 to its limits was done in 2008 with the release of gears of war 2. Alan Wake could possibly surpass gears 2 but the amount of on screen objects on screen moving at the same time will be hard to beat. Devs know the maximum power for the xbox 360 and they already hit it. Just look at MW2. The game didn't look very different from Cod4. Whats wrong if devs want to maximize the power of another console? I dont think any multplatfrom game has even the level killzone 2 yet. Wouln't it be awesome if all muliplatform shooters looked as good as killzone 2. I think devs want to hit that power for their own games. So guys this isn't a bad thing. And people it is a fact that the PS3 is more powerful than the 360. The Ps3 simply has newer technology. Please find me a game on the 360 that can match god of war 3, killzone 2, or Uncharted 2.

Rage and Crysis 2 say hi.

We will have to wait and see about that, recent comments suggest both those games may even end up being better on the PS3 (which could be considered as milestones considering both companies' PC heritage). I don't expect these games to actually beat God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 on Cell and Blu-Ray optimisation.

I think they will. But it doesn't matter anyways, as by then we'll know of newer PS3 exclusives that'll push the PS3 even further (like Killzone 3 for instance).

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

And I'm sure Gears of War 3 won't look better than Gears of War 2 either.

Heck, I think Mass Effect 2 looks better than Gears 2 personally.

Lol, true.

My friend Xbox 360 died on him a few weeks ago before he bough Mass Effect 2. Told him to return the game and get it for PC but he just going to buy a new Xbox 360. New Jasper edition should fix that problem hopefully. Anyway why bother to bring this up? Because Microsoft clearly rushed the product. They wanted to be a year ahead of the competition and just bunched up cost efficient materials and approved the design without good testing.

PS3 in turn suffered from the opposite spectrum, it was released a year later with hardware that was ahead of its time, costing more to produce than to sell. Right at this moment we finally catching up (Time wise) to the potential of the hardware, and it clearly shows. But honestly, the only reason PS3 getting so much attention now is because PS3 slim made it affordable and the install base is growing drastically.

Yes, I'm aware that some exclusive games are influential in sales, but lets just say exclusive of one console and another cancel each other out.

I expect Microsoft next strategy to be a price cut on new slim version of the console. That should balance out sales between PS3 and Xbox 360. Why? because the only thing Microsoft and Nintendo have an edge on the Sony this particular GEN is the hardware production cost. No, I'm not starting flame war. x.x

I figured this to mean that PS3 multiplatform games would suffer less from the many issues related from getting ports from the 360 which is hard to do with good results.

With the Xbox 360 being the reportedly easier platform to develop for. I take it will be seeing more comparable ports with no clear difference from either version just more equality between them.

I didn't realize this news would cause such a fallout -_-

Sorry somehow I quoted myself -_-

OT this shouldn't big that big of problem it's good news.

@spartanOmega you took the words right out of my mouth, I going to go further and officially state that devs. are just lazy this gen, some didnt WANT to learn the PS3, thats why it was getting inferior ports. IMO that is some lazy ass crap right there, nothing against 360, but its not really pushing the the industry right now and as gamers we should be worried, this isnt a rant from a PS3 fanboy, they've dropped the ball on Wii, that system gets rarely good 3rd party games, and when they do its usually ports of older games (OKami, Bully, RE4) its like they dont want to learn the Wiimote, more laziness

Remnant but Microsoft already sells the cheapest HD console. Will another price cut make a lot of difference? Arcade is even cheaper than Wii. If there is a 360 slim version available later this year I expect boost in sales but not for long.

In your first sentence you confirmed something what quite often happens. Xbox breaks and people go to get another one. This is well reflected in SW sales. I recently read some comments on Xbox 360 on amazon.co.uk. Roughly 1/2 owners said that this was their new 2nd Xbox.

I don't like the idea of porting games from ps3 to 360. Look at what they did with Final Fantasy XIII.

QFTW

i finishd ff13 on ps3, playd on my friends xbox 36o version & the diffrnce was so noticeble, gameplay & cutscene quality on xbox 360 is worse than ps3 version.

this is good for the ps3, but only because the 360 can handle almost any data thrown at it. where the ps3 has to have specific data written for it to run properly. the ps3 is a great machine capable of great graphics and games, and so is the 360. either way the gamers who support a specific console and love that console, thats cool. i can respect and apprecaite your taste, i just wish more ppl could also respect another person's love for a console u dont like and still be nice about it, it does get frustrating that ppl get all upset over how dev's say this and that about a console. then get all pissed and make hatefull threads. also john carmack, he has said many times over that the ps3 has about a 10% more power in the cpu side, but the 360 has the better gpu. if their is one guy who i will trust more that others in what a system's potential could be is him. ps3 fans have alot of reason to be cheerfull over the past year and i am happy for them and me, because the ps3 is finally getting the spot light it does deserve.
