On another note I don't even think the OP is a PS3 only fan so I don't understand the hostility lol.

Hmm... some people need to take their blinders off, and look at the whole picture. Here's how I see things:

It's a known fact that HD games this gen cost significantly more to make. (Exact numbers are irrelevant, merely that it is more expensive.) So to have the best attempt for sales of HD games, you want to go PS360 multiplat. Okay, so you'll do that. But the systems have very different architecture. Which should lead?

The prevailing thought is that the 360 is significantly easier to work on. Great, let's do that! But wait... look at the game patterns. Games that lead on the 360 have a much higher chance of a PS3 port being seen as poor, versus PS3-lead games being ported to the 360. So this means...?

The PS3 is still harder to develop for, from an exclusive point-of-view. But by leading on the harder platform, it makes the porting process easier, and keeps the games closer to parity with each other. So as to not hurt their company names, more are moving to a PS3-lead for developing, to increase the chance that the port will not be referred to as trash. But regardless of which you use for a lead platform, sacrifices will be made to make the game able to go between both platforms. I do think the best looking games for both the PS3 and 360 will be exclusives, since you won't have to worry about "Feature X" not being portable, and the systems can best be used to their full abilities.

Saying the PS3 is more powerul than the 360 is saying that my graphic calculator is more powerful than your graphic calculator.

Hello? If you want a powerful piece of hardware, go PC. PS3's hardware isn't powerul in the slightest.

@ Chrizum

There are important differences between games consoles and PCs. Wanting a powerful console does not mean people should buy a PC, neither does wanting a powerful handheld console mean people should get a PC, neither does wanting a more powerful smartphone mean people should get a PC, neither does wanting a more powerful car mean people should get a PC, etc.

what else i find funny is how horribly of a port job ff13 was and did MS fanboys go up in arms? nope. difference in framerate that most players would have never noticed if not told explicitly in the case of bayonetta, the game was pretty much labeled trash and sega got so much shit for it.... what a world of double standards we live in...

I was just thinking to myself that the VGC community needs more members who are keen to engage in trash talking one another. Welcome to the site.

lol nothing like fanboys hating on fanboys. PS3 gets a good news and Microsoft security squad came over to hate. I'll save you all some trouble. If you are a Xbox 360 fanboy, do not read this news because it will incite you some anger and need to complain. Rest assure you will have some good games to play with when all is said and done.

Oh yeah I'm a PS3 fanboy by choice. I just don't see the value on a Xbox 360. No I do not agree on everything Sony says, and yes, I believe its Xbox 360 fault that SOME third party games are limited in quality. Don't be mad though, just like the Wii and PS2, some games are amazing even with limited quality hardware.

So it's about the games, right? And not the power of the hardware?

Again?

This must mean that Gears of War 3, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell and may others were ported to XBOX360!

Uh wait......

Final Fantasy XIII on the 360 was a very suitable port. The main reason why the PS3 version looks better is more storage capacity. 6.8 GB per 360 DVD and on a Blu-Ray disc you have more than 7 times this capacity (the exact ratio is difficult to determine as for some games more data duplication will be required spanning across multiple discs than others).

With regard to game design, that game was originally intended for the PS2 (of course meanwhile it has improved), so with regard to complexity is no problem for the XBox 360 to handle.

And mind you, in the past when there were differences between ports it were first and foremost loud mouth XBox 360 fanboys who started endless threads about this, combined with spreading misinformation the 360 is a more powerful console....

Hello? If you want a powerful piece of hardware, go PC. PS3's hardware isn't powerul in the slightest.

If I want a powerful graphic calculator (whatever that is) then it's handy to know which one(s) is(are) the most powerful isn't it? So "saying" PS3 is more powerful than 360 (assuming it's true) is fine and to some people who are interested in buying the most powerful console it would be quite useful information.

Arguing over it is where your graphic calculator analogy would come in handy. Please be sure to use it (in its modified "arguing over" form) in future next time an argument over which is the most powerful console ensues. Hopefully it will effectively diffuse the tension.

Of course you kind of killed off the high horse you came riding in on with your last sentence.
