Game seems absolutely amazing, but if this is how it really is even after an install I think this may have gone from purchase to rental. If the rental proves to still be awesome though I will go buy it since this is something I could play with the lady of the house.

What is your opinion of these crazy long load times?

Yeah, because those load times are easily enough to kill my excitement for this game.

You may need to buy it if the load times are that long. If you rent it you'll spend half the time on the loading menu!!!

My reaction is NO WAY that can be happening.  Anyone want to confirm here?

I am sure it will be patched in the future to hopefully drastically cut down load times, they did so with 3D Dot Game Heroes by adding the optional install. Even though this game already has it I hope they figure out a solution because this game looks like pure gold otherwise and I would hate for the absolutely bat shit crazy insane bullshit loading times to prevent me from purchasing it.

Well all of the reviewers said it had long load times, but they said it was just 1 minute so it may be the guy's ps3, or this is fake.

3 and a half minutes to play in a single player race? I can't imagine the load times for a created track in online multiplayer.

OT: Yeah, that would frustrate me. I'm normally tolerant of load times when I know the outcome will be better, such as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Though I don't see why that many load times are necessary for this sort of game.
