Forums - PC Discussion - hardware prices in different countries

Italy:
List prices as in the rest of Euro Zone (PS3 120GB 299€, Wii 199€, XB360 Arcade 179€ etc), one of the few good things we got from Euro.
Street prices are currently lower, PS3 and Wii are discounted by 10 to 20€, XB Arcade is discounted 30€.

Can I ask the South Americans what's to stop 'your favourite aunty in the UK/US' from sending you a cheaper console? Are packages from friends and relatives checked? Surely games must be easy to get through customs.

At $500 a Wii, I'd be tempted to fill my suitcase with a few and take a trip over there.

well, i bought my wii in the us, so i paid half the price i would pay here.

bout your idea, it's not uncommon, at least in my country. People usually buy a vast number of consoles, and sell them for twice the price, after unlocking it of course

After unlocking what?

lol

Are those prices in Zlotys or Euros?

Colombia, South America.

Wii: $350
PS3: $600
360: Arcade $350, Elite $450

"Why not have the consoles sent/imported? I can imagine customs taking a close look at a parcel with AMAZON stamped on it but a friendly Ebay seller could make it look like a simple pair of shoes from grandma. Is postage expensive in your country?"

You usually have to pay taxes anyway, the cost of a Wii will go down to $280 including postage and taxes. But not everybody knows how to do it, remember our mother tongue is Spanish and not everyone speak english, or has a credit card/pay pal account. Besides, you get a "legal" console, but the people almost always wants a "open" one (that can play pirated games), piracy runs rampant in my country.

Nintendo is a constant in life. Nintendo is the place where you can always go to have a great time, whether that is alone or together with friends. Nintendo made dozens of all time classics which are more than just amazing games. Nintendo is a gaming company. Nintendo raised our sorry asses better than a parent ever could. Nintendo is a religion. Nintendo is what drove gaming forward and what continues to drive gaming forward. Nintendo saved gaming in the '80s. Nintendo is saving gaming again right now.

btw: remember that the prices in Norway (see post by another user) includes 25% VAT + 5(3) year warranty.

Another thing about prices in Norway..
You can typically pick up a new game for 2/3 the full price at shops during the launch week of a game.
This applies to most of the big franchises for at least the ps3 and xbox360.

Same for Belgium, there is a guarantee included in the price (2 years).
