Other thoughts:

Why can't the elites start with a needle rifle? The spartans can start with a DMR and have free target practice at them coming up for the first objective.

What on earth is up with the banshee? It won't get high enough to fly over the building and I end up destroying half of it before I get to where I can use it.

Why is the range of the scorpion tank so much larger than that of the wraith? The elites have absolutely nothing to combat it with.

Why do the spartan's vehicles start off blocked off by shields, but elite's vehicles are open for the taking by anybody?

Spartans spawning with a grenade launcher is a little cheap imo, especially considering they can also spawn right beside a rocket launcher if they want to.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't get me wrong, it is a fun mode, but it's so far skewed in favor of the spartans it's ridiculous. I feel like I have absolutely no shot at all as an elite unless the other team is really terrible. Any competent team of spartans should win easily.

On the other hand, I played invasion slayer once, and it seemed to be just fine to me, a lot of fun too.

1. There is a couple of Needle Rifle's stacked against the debree between you and the Spartans.
2. Banshee sucks I agree. Looks mighty sexy but it sucks and the controls feel worse then Halo 3.
3. I personally destroyed about 5 scorpion tanks just by rolling behind it and ramming a plasma grenade down it's engine bay. Easy as pie. I've seen plenty of other Elites shoot it with the Spartan Lasers and Rocket Launchers turning it into scrap metal.
4. If Spartans vehicles weren't blocked of by shields it would give the Spartans an even bigger advantage and a early spawn kill fest.
5. Not really, Elites having Active Camo/Jetpack and the Needler/Energy Sword is just as cheap and it's a damn well lot harder to actually hit an enemy with the Grenade Launcher. The Elite's can also easily loot the Human armory during the second wave (Just above the data core). My friend used to nab the sniper and camp in the corner of the map sniping Spartans.

From the 20 or so games I've played it's been about a 1:1 win ratio for each team.

I love sprinting of the side of the docked ship at the start of the game and taking out a good 5+ Elites with the DMR solo style. The only thing that kills me is the damn Needler homing . I should probably stop firing and sprint sideways untill he has to reload. Side stepping is not quick enough.

1. Ok, but why can't they start off with them then and spartans can start off with BMRs, which there are spare BMRs where the spartans start off anyway.

3. Ok, but the wraith is an absolute joke compared to the scorpion. The fact that a scorpion can take out a wraith in one shot is quite frankly BS.

5. Trust me. The jetpack doesn't help as much as you'd think it might. I've used it many times and while running across the map get killed by someone camping by the core. Also, shotgun >>>>>>>>>>>>> sword. The loadouts and vehicles are all better on the spartan side imo.

1. If the Elites spawn with long range weapons they won't feel inclined to push forwards will they? Leaving the timer to run down equaling Spartan Victory. Invasion will be a 500 meter DMR/Needle Rifle potshot fest.
3. Human Vehicles have always been vastly superior since Halo CE and like I previously mentioned you can easily destroy a Scorpion.
5. Why are you running across the map if you have a jetpack? Use it to access power weapons with little resistance or attack enemies focusing elsewhere.
Needler/Needle Rifle/DMR/Rocket Launcher/Grenade Launcher/Pistol/Plasma Rifle/Plasma Launcher/Grenades/Plasma Grenades etc can all >>>>> the Shotgun. It's even easier if you have roll.

It has been nerfed plenty from it's Halo 3 counterpart. You now need to line up your shot completely and be within about 1-2 meters for it to 1 hit kill (At full health and Shield).

The mode is fairly balanced and the respawns are fine, during wave 2 the Elites can spawn in the middle of the map (ship) and the Spartans at the Refinery or surrounding buildings. Once that Data Core is moved halfway the Elite's spawn point is in their favor and they can already run much faster. You can even spawn on your co-op buddy, even into a vehicle. Use the Up D-Pad button to choose your spawn people!

1. Huh? You really think elites are going to camp at the bottom and let the timer run out every time?

3. That doesn't really justify why the covenant vehicles are a complete waste of time.

5. Uhh because when nobody can get to the core, because there's a scorpion controlling the outside, and spartans spawning with shotguns inside where the core is. Yeah, what else are you going to do?

The spawning with your squadmates doesn't work as well as it should anyway, because it'll say your teammate is in combat even when there's nobody even near him. I'm sorry, but I really don't think there's anyway you can honestly tell me this game mode is balanced with a straight face.

I wish my enemies were as dumb as yours!

I'm going to bed. *sigh*

1.3.5. Learn to play Halo Reach or desperately try to find a team that is actually capable of shooting straight.

Ah yes, when all else fails, use the "you must suck at the game then" argument.

Lots of people are saying the same on bungie.net though, so I know I am not alone.

Well if you can't take out a Scorpion, Spartans with Shotguns and think the Wraith and Ghost is completely useless then yeah I think you do.

Here's one more little tip: A Plasma Launcher and Plasma Rifle spawns inside the Ship ontop of a Covenant pedestal once the Spartans have retreated to the refinery and the Elite's begin to spawn in there. The Launcher can easily dispatch a Scorpion and any Spartan with ease. I won't try to educate you any further as it never works.

Also Lol at you if you take the majority of the Bungie.Net forum users seriously.. They're combined IQ is lower then the Assault Rifle ammo capacity.

Out of the 16 invasion games I played today 7 were Elite Victories. In the first battle nobody had any idea what to do and the Elite's didn't  make it to the second wave. I'd say that was fairly balanced.

The wraith and ghost are useless because the scorpion is overpowered and comes back every 30 seconds. Seriously, the scorpion has ridiculous accuracy and range, and no matter what you try to tell me it is COMPLETELY USELESS using those vehicles and the screwed up banshee against a scorpion tank. A scorpion (as I said before) should not be able to one hit a wraith, when the wraith can't aim for crap and can't come close to one hitting a scorpion. Do you know what that's called? The vehicles being unbalanced. Nevermind that the scorpion can easily take out people using jetpacks miles away. I don't give a damn how easy it is for you to blow a scorpion up, how many games you've been in that elites have won; I'm telling you, the only way I can see that the elites can win right now is if the spartans are incompetent, and you trying to talk down to me like I suck got really freaking old a long time ago. When the spartans have two rocket launchers, a sniper rifle, and a laser at the last base, I'm supposed to be thankful that they were kind enough to give the elites one high powered weapon? Oh and it doesn't really matter if the elites do have a plasma launcher, when the spartans start camping inside by the core with shotguns, how many people do you honestly think you're going to go in there and take out with a plasma launcher? I'm sick of you talking down to me because apparently you don't think I match your "Halo greatness" because I think this game mode is horribly unbalanced.

EDIT: Ah, and the "nobody takes anybody on bungie.net seriously" argument. How original...

I found that if the covies can get past the first stage then they almost always win the game. The first is the toughest because the Spartans can use the DMR already which is a huge advantage. I have gotten a lot of first strikes with that gun. But once the Elites get through it's still tough but gets easier. Every single time I have gotten to the third stage as an elite we always win and I haven't played the reverse because we never let them get that far.

For slayer though it's a lot harder til tier 2 for Elites to get kills. They don't have a very good ranged weapon but if they can get close quarters it's easier.

And does anyone wish that they let you play both sides for Invasion?!?! The game would last a little bit longer than like 6 minutes. Being able to lose a game in 3 minutes kind of sucks...

Already in the final game.

I dont want to add to your frustration. But I have only lost once as the elites. I find, Camo plus Needler a beauty for clearing the core room. Once that core is outside, Genreally it's fairly easy.

Is it me or do the elites never have a chance in this mode? I've played about five times, and the elites never get the core near where it's supposed to go because shotguns beat swords every time.

EDIT: The spawnpoints are also heavily skewed towards the spartans for the last objective. The spartans get to spawn right beside the core, while the elites spawn all the way on the other side of the map. I can't tell you how many times I try running across the map to get taken out by a tank or something.

It is a fun mode, but I'd love to see the statistics. The way it's set up, spartans should be winning 90% of the matches at least.

In Invasion it's hard for the elites to win, cause they have to play verry offensive. But I bet the spartans with my buddy last time, so it isn't that difficult ;)

In Invasion slayer on the other hand, the elites almost allways win, no matter in what team I am. Is it just me or are they a little stronger (shield, or health)? Or could it be cause of the  vehicles? I don't really get it...

They are faster and have faster recharging energy shields and health recovery.
