No it isn't...
If he said "if I can finish watching my FFXIII custscenes in 1080p" it would have made much more sense as cutscenes are 1080p. Gameplay is 720p on PS3...

what? no , they're both in 1080P if thats the case then they're would be some kind of pause or screen bump between cutscene and gameplay, and the fact that i can notice it (my Tv shows a "720p" - "1080p" marker if the resolution is changed)

Fortunately I play games, not graphics.
I opened both screen shots and then forgot which was which, and then tried to look at them both and couldn't which was which.

Im sure PS3 upscales it to 1080p...as does the 360. But PS3s native res is 720p.

i can't believe someone said Yakuza 3 looks like a PS2 game =/ , there are too much ignorance in this thread, atleast say that AFTER you play the games you are talking about.
can the PS2 render these?
and those aren't even the best scenes, but no one says that about Yakuza or you'd get flamed BADLY by me =]

well i own the game and i KNOW its 1080p, the difference is obvious , btw PS3 doesn't upscale it the tv does and if it does i can see it.
but you don't own the game, so... you ....can... stop.

Haha...the "I own the game" argument.
Look, if you don't accept digital foundry's 720p res for PS3 then you can't accept that 360 is running in 576p. To you both games are runnign in 1080p since I guarantee you your Tv would say 1080p for the 360 version too. Magic of upscaling...

wrong, it said 720p 
the same for Uncharted 2 , just to let you know that my tv is not PS3 biased.
edit : just so you know the 360 version runs in 720p not 576p, thats either false or some old build.
