7/10, "We managed to avoid drowning!" XD definitely the worst MGS though. Stupid story, crap protagonist and annoying antagonists. I hated Solidus, Vamp and Fortune with a passion. It's still got one of the best video game openings though.

Hey Listen!
9.5/10 I thought it was a great game being well ahead of its time and having more plot twists than most movies. I liked Raiden because he was so stupid that he actually made Snake/Plisken look more heroic than he would without Raiden.
We're not tools of the government, or anyone else. Fighting was the only thing... the only thing I was good at. But... at least I always fought for what I believed in.
10/10 - deeper than it appears at first glance and leagues above most games in that period in terms of production value.
"You have the right to the remains of a silent attorney"
9.5/10
The Raiden campaign disappointed but regardless of that it was still AMAZING
This was the start of Kojima thinking he was a decent director. Only to make a huge mess of what was a great start to the franchise. The story went way out of control, and the gameplay was passable as a stealth game.
The excellence of storytelling and masterstrokes of the first. Were entirely absent from this 2nd game. It's like someone killed Kojima and made a synthetic robot of him to finish the job.
This was the downturn for the series that never recovered due to a game producer thinking he is Quintin Tarrantino.
6/10
